Rick, that is no picnic believe me... Lots of work.. Make sure you let the carpet heat up to get soft so you can work with it..
We had lots of problems with the carpet in my 69 Chevelle when installing it. The cut was way off and we had to send it back to Trim Parts.. They did make good on it however and sent out another set right away that was much better..

What's your take on the two large round holes in that trunk divider board? Also, was there any insulation on either side of the divider board?
Floors are lookin' mighty fine there, Albert http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

no insulation or signs fo one at all on either side of the board. Holes...probably to equalize air pressure when closing the doors with the windows up. This is the secong low mile car I have had and the other was the same way!!. Nose is coming off later.....and away we go http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif!!!

Cool stuff Albert. My experience has been the retractor bolts have always been painted/plated that color which coincidently matches the paint on that car. I could be wrong but I always see them like that.
Were the oval drain plugs in the floor pan covered with primer and then paint or just paint overspray?
You might want to take some close ups of how the carpeting has been cut around the seat mounting area as this has been a common question of people on here.
Thanks for sharing.

Al, Thanks for the great pic's. It is interesting that your car has smooth rear ash trays. My Chevelle which is an 06D car also has the same. I was told that the ash trays in my car are incorrect. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

My late 06 Atl car had ribbed as well..these "appear" to be original, but it is a easy swap..my 04 Oshowa built Beaumont..ribbed and its painfully original too!

Rick, A fellow member told me that all 69's had ribbed rear ash trays. The smooth were in my car when I got it in 1987. I was just wondering if maybe they used both at some time in 1969. I also have an early Chevelle that has ribbed. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Back in 1980 when I bought my Chevelle, it had one smooth and one ribbed. Weird. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

That was me....that said this. I go on the record to say....all 1969 Chevelle`(Malibu`s, COPO`s, Convertible`s, 300 Deluxe`s) came originally equipt with ribbed ash trays.... if not...I do believe they were swaped out for new one`s (not smoke/ash filled)...which by that time 1970 and newer were smooth.
Albert.... great pics.

Albert,
Picked up your wheels from Rob(1969l78)....they are nice, you`ll just have to blasted and repaint them in your very own SW mix. Mia liked them too.

Al,
Great pix, thanks for posting.
My black 69 SS did not have any holes punched in the divider board. Neither did my 69 300 deluxe. My 69 Malibu did however; it also had rear defrost and rear speakers. Maybe that had something to do with it???

Here is a picture of my 72 rear seat back divider, with factory rear speaker and rear defog options as well. Don't know if it is much help being a later model.
