I was at a small, local car cruise this past evening which was the last one for the season. I was hanging out with a few friends when a 69 Chevelle SS 396 car came rolling through the lot and parked near us. The fella that owned the car knew a friend of mine. I started talking to him and found that the car was all "day 2" and basically untouched since the early 70s... It is an ex-race car and was bought new at Ed Stinn's Chevrolet in Cleveland, Ohio. Car originally is a 325 HP 396 car. I grabbed my camera for this one and snapped some shots... Thought you guys might like to see the car.... Enjoy..... Rich

The cob-webbing lace paint job on the car was killer and over the original color blue.. This was done in the early 70s.

This was cool, the old tow tabs still in place. Also check out the plate frame. These were given out to employees at the Parma, Ohio Chevy Plant back in the day...

The plug/wiring harness for towing the vehicle.

Old FM converter still in the dash...

Owner said the shifter came out of a GTO in a junk yard.. The interior was basically all original..

Too many guys are still keeping them in the shed thinking they're not good enough to 'show'. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Nice shots Rich. Did the guy say what type tow-bar was used with those tabs? I wonder if it was an NMW bar.

Donnie, the 72 is Mark's car... Mike, the Wife drove the rag top.. She has driven the L78 car though.. She does not like it as much because of the non-power steering and bias ply tires.. She likes the 4 speed in the Chevelle with the power steering and radial tires...

Bruce, I promise I will send you the cars for member's rides....

Thanks all for the kind words..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif

that steering wheel has the deep dish like the 67 & 68 wheel, I thought the 69's had the shallow dish steering wheel?

Jim, the owner did say that the steering wheel was not correct and I think it is even a re-pop...

Forgot all about the fuzzy package trays. My 69 chevelle had that too when I was in high school. Can't remember if it was in when I bought it or if I did it.
