First of I have been lurking here for a while and this is my first post. I have a really clean all orig 69 Camaro I am building into a day 2 deal and need some help. Resisting the Pro Tour makeover.
I have an old Lakewood 3 point bar but I can't find the pads that bolted to the floor. Actually I have 2 of them and am trying to figure out which one and where they bolt up. If someone has a pic of theirs it would help with placement. I think I am joint to weld in to just make it easier anyway.
Thanks In advance
Brian

Thanks,
I will take pics of the complete one that I have. It has removable plates but the bar also has slip joint with a through bolt at the end of each hoop. Also the rear bar or strut also has a slip joint with a through bolt. I was told all the bar were made the same and they just modified the attachments?
I will also get some measurements to compare. Yours is shorter from the crossbar to the drivers side mtg plate.
I am starting to think mine is not from a Camaro. One is shorter than the other.
Thanks again.

I think they are all the same except the feet. My bar came out of an old camaro race car that was being put back to stock and I lucked out because mine doesn't have the removable feet and has a factory padding applied. I think my bar was called the "Loop" in the Lakewood catalog from 1971. If you need measurements I can PM you my number and get whatever you need to put this back in a camaro. Mark

I believe they were all the same bar with different feet except for the vette and the VW bugs. They had a shorter version of the bar.

Tommy,
What's up with that wrecked 69 SS Camaro. Looks like the 3 point bar did its job.
BTW, I have 3 Lakewood bars. Not sure what mounting feet I have but would be interested in some 68-72 Chevelle A-body feet if anyone has them.
Caleb Arone's DY Bryne Bros COPO has a nice 3 point bar if your looking for pics.

We will be introducing a "similar" retro product, available for delivery at the MCACN show November 21 & 22nd. It can be used for Tri-Five Chevys as well as Camaros etc.

Kevin, it was on another forum a yr or so ago. A truck forum I think. The guy had a ton of photos of his dads old race cars.

Do you have more pics of this Camaro? That thing is wasted! I think you can see the passenger side quarter panel sticking up in the air behind the car. The passenger side sun visor is almost touching the steering wheel. I sonder what the car looked like before the accident.
It's obvious that our old Camaros are not very strong, especially in the center of the car. I've seen some serious damage done by T-bones. The Camaro just folds in half. Definitely reminds me that I still want a roll bar. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

this was supposedly a current picture of the mans barn. the 68 Camaro is in the lower corner. The son said his Dad never got rid of any cars... I believe it... He also must have been a big believer in Lakewood Roll Bars http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Thanks for the help guys!! The complete bar I have is out of a Dodge/Plymouth from what I can gather. It is 100% complete including the mtg hardware for the pads. They had 3/4x4" lugs that they sandwiched the floor in between.
They list as one bar but not sure how it would fit with mtg brackets as without any it is up against the headliner? Also look at the 1st bar pic and then the other red one. The passenger side of the hoop where it turns down to meet the floor is a lot shorter on one than the other. Mine is the longer version. The width appears of if it was being welded on pads.
I will post pics and measurements today of what I have. Honestly it is a super easy bar to replicate. I might just make one and sell this one to a Mopar restorer I think they used them in the Hemi Darts??If it was 2 years ago I would be going to Disney on the sale.

I wonder if the same Lakewood 3 point was used in his 2nd Camaro. From the looks of Instant Bad, the only salvageable parts from that car were probably the drivers rear quarter window and the roll bar...maybe. Cool pics!
Thanks,
