A shot in the dark here but I am finishing up a 1970 Nova L78 car and it was a former stock racer from West Virginia. Name on the door was 'Beefeater' and name on window was Charlie Peery? Anyone know of this car back in the day? Cranberry red 4spd car.
Thanks

I tried to post some but apparently are too large - i can sure email them to someone?? I am trying to not only get some history but maybe even some additional pics of the car in its hayday. When I got it one door was still in 'Beefeater' paint and when I removed the new crappy quarters they welded over the originals I unvealed the same paint scheme under there. It looked to be cranberry red with a large white stripe the width of the door down the side where it said beefeater and had some angus cattle farm sponsoring. I have currently got it as far as painted, running and trying to finish up interior and final assembly. I am going day two with it (headers, al. heads, traction bars) but the rest is restored to original. Was thinking of maybe going a step further and putting the paint scheme back together or at least close? I have no paperwork on the car but the original motor, heads, intake, carb and rear end. Correct dated muncie. Actually I take that back - 95% sure on original block, dated correct but can't read a vin. All other signs point to it being an L78. My question is am I stupid to maybe go back to the racing vintage with it? I will stop rambling - will get someone pics if they can help me post.

-----Trying to figure out weather he was a gin drinker or a red meat eater,,, or possibly both. None of which are bad things, by the way........Bill S

Yes, I am leaning towards the red meat as the rear quarter once we removed the quarter that was welded over top had remnants of an angus cattle farm sponsor! But I agree nothing wrong if he was both...
