It is a two piece hood, the underside is made exactly like the original steel hood. It has the innerstructure the same. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Al, that is the info right off the VFN site.
There is a guy close by in PA that was selling/making Stinger Hoods and had them at Carlisle. I saved a bit on shipping.
Fiber Concepts Warminster PA.

Al, If your looking for a exact hood as the org. A&A hood this is the one. There hood was copied from a org. A&A hood. Annie H. still has the org that these were made from.
Ray Morrison hood is org. and I looked for 10 years before I found one. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Kim, which is the real thing, the VFN or the FiberConcepts. I just read where Motions original molds were left to a business in PA. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I think the A&A hood is what VFN is making. A&A is what DH used. Ray's hood is one from the original run, Tommy K's I believe is from the reproduction run and the one currently on Annie's car is an original and is the one they used to make the repros; ........ right Kim?

Sounds like Joel used another brand, or maybe his own design.

I met with the guy in PA named Larry who claimed to have been Joels supplier for fiberglass. No doubt there was a connection as he did give me a few Motion Products stickers which Joel would have include with the sale of his products when he would drop ship. The company started out as Fastglas and changed names once or twice.

Larry was really into Corvettes but didn't take such great care of himself and sold the company a few years ago to http://www.fiberpartsconcepts.com/

Although they do offer some old peices, the majority of the items most of us find interesting are made from copies of the offerings like VFN and the sort. There are no old molds laying around, with the exception of the I guess what you would call the C3 hood with the stinger top scoop. Everything else is a copy or a modernt attempt at things. I think they even tried to make the 3 post spoiler, but the post are in the wrong spots and such.

I suspect that Joel probably had two sources for most of his stuff. I have a sneaking suspicion that those who have battled with the fit and quality of some of the old MP glass products may have struggles with Larry's work.

Don't get me wrong, they did make some nice stuff just not all of it was. Larry was really just a businessman. The actually glass guys were talented but sometimes held back. I believe one of them built the Porsche body for some of the old Lowenbrau Holberts race cars.

I'm not really sure when the relationship between Joel and Larry began, but I think it wasn't till about 1970. it stayed strong into the 1990's but don't know where it is at this point.

Dennis 20 years ago Brian Henderson called me,and told me about a guy that had a A&A hood for sale. I bought the hood from him & had it shipped to me from Ohio. I took the hood to the Nova Nats. in Springfield ,Ill. I met Ed C. & he took the hood to VFN. We had 10 made. Ray M, me, Gary Dyer, & somebody else took 2 each . Ed kept the last two. When I sold both Novas to Dennis H. the new hoods & the org. went with the cars. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

I have at least one article from a Swedish magazine, stating that a guy who had bought fiberglass-parts from Motion had a hard time getting them to fit.
