Greg,

Great question.... I took these pics from my 39xxx mile 1969 6 cylinder 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Chevelle. The lines are laying back behind my garage.

It`s oviously not an L78..... however still is a 3/8`s original fuel line.

The first two pics of the brake line clips, Yellow.

The second two pics are of the fuel line clips, hard to tell from the picture, they are a lighter Blue.

Dan, looks like you better quit buying buicks and clean up around the garage!

The originals on the 69 Z I am doing are the light blue color... they were not the blue dyed look that the repro's are they are actually light blue paint. I don't know if I have photos of them before but I will get some of them after repainting. I mixed the color to match what was originally there using testors enamel then dipped them.

Old thread I know, but...

Lots of conflicting info out there.

My car has the following brake line clips (haven't even looked at the fuel line clips yet):

Rear Brake lines:
3/8 with locator tabs (total of three, I believe these were originally green)

3/8 w/o locator tabs (total of three, I have no idea what color they were, but some appear to have remnants of pink paint??? have never seen anyone advertise pink)

Front brake lines:
5/16, with locator tabs (total of two, not sure what color)

3/16 w/o locator tabs (total of two, pretty sure these were black)

Any help on the correct color matching would be greatly appreciated.

Greg, after tearing hundreds of these cars apart I am fairly convinced there is no 'correct' answer. I have seen way too many variations even within the same plant to make a judgment call so I normally restore them the way I find them when possible. I have seen flat olive drab green, a bright green, yellow, yellow cad, blue dye and blue paint. I have been documenting these for several years and there just does not seem to be any correlation between the plants or clips used.

Thanks.

Guess I should have mentioned, the car is a 69 Camaro with disc brakes.

Now I feel like a real dumba$$.

Guess I should start a new thread so we all know the subject matter.
