Have asked before, but now that the spring/summer parts show season is over. Did anyone pick up any McCrearys?

Wish I could help you...those are awesome! On second thought, if I had a set, I'd probably keep them for myself!

Ah, there's a name I haven't seen for awhile.....McCreary!They were a great budget street/strip tire back in the Eighties being roughly half the price of a set of M&H's. I could run in the 11's on them pretty easily and when aired down, they'd wrinkle up and pop wheelies but still had a pretty streetable "thick" sidewall unlike a drag slick or the above-mentioned M&H's. They are actually still in production today and still reasonable priced but are now called "American Racer".

Hey Rich. They'll be going on the Deuce next year in order to kick off its Day-Two tour! The Roof's ran these on the car early on as Earl Roof worked at McCreary Tires in Indiana, PA. They ran G6014s all the way around for that extra grip on the Western PA back road twisties. I still have all 4 that the Roofs ran on the car. 3 are in excellent condition, the 4th has a torn bead. I've decided to run skinnier tires up front. They'll be mounted to the Roof's Ansen Sprints.

GTO Don (White) just set me straight http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif . G7014s will be an inch taller than my G60 14s. So, no G7014s.
Appreciate any leads! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Rich - its not looking real good that the Deuce will make it to Chicago http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif . Once again having transportation difficulties. I'll be there with or without the Deuce though and am looking forward to getting back to the Windy City and checking out Bob A.'s inaugural event! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

[/ QUOTE ]70 series tires are taller than 60 series Sam. 60 series have the width 70's have the height. E or F's up front, G or H's in the back. I used to run H70/14's in the rear of my nova Kelly Springfield Schenuits.
