Hi folks, I don't like posting questions about what things are worth but I've located a 1969 Camaro 12 Bolt BV code with 4.10 gears. I'm wondering what it is worth? And will it add significant value to the car? The car is a very clean California car and would make a great tribute car. I've already added a stout roller-cammed 427 but in swapping my 6 cyl for a 427 I've retained the 8.2 10 bolt until deciding on a rear end. (problem is I haven't been able to put my foot to the floor yet!!!)
I'm torn between buying this original versus going to an aftermarket one from say Moser, Strange or one of those companies. Just looking for direction. Thanks

I just bought a complete Moser rear. Disc brakes, parking brake, 31 spline axels, 9" style 4:10 posi, 1350 yoke, fill and drain options, for rite at 5 grand.

Thanks for the input. The rear is in that 1500-2000 price range.
Are you saying the Moser rear end was a Ford 9" or was it 12 bolt with the big ford ends?
Still wondering if an original would add more value to the car if doing a clone?

If it's not the original rear to the car, then go a modern rear...I was thinking a good, beefier bolt in replacement 12 bolt was available for right at $2k from either Strange or Moser.

I went with the 9" Ford style. This is in my 55 Nomad Gasser car, so I wasn't concerned about looking original. Most of the racers I talked to say the 9" is a lot stronger than a 12 bolt.

But they eat more HP than a comparable 12bolt combo...if you don't need the extra beef, you'll be ahead of the game by sticking with the 12 bolt.
Again, I think you can pick up a brand new, ready to rock, and beefier 12 bolt for around $2k...if you pick up the BV rear at that same price, you're gonna have nearly that much *more* into the original rear to get it whooped into shape. And, it's still not gonna be the original rear to the car, no matter how pretty that BV stamp is...!
