Does any one know if there was ever a prototype or even talk of a Motion 1st generation Monte?

Im not sure about any Motion MC's, but Dick Harrell did do a ls6 MC. Being that they were so big/heavy and were not dragraced competitivly I would say its unlikly.

I would have to agree with that. I used to have a 70 ss 454 and its was quite heavy but i wouldnt think any moreso than a 70 chevelle as they were built off the same chassis.Maybe Motion did do one but it probably slipped off into obscurity a long time ago but then again who knows http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

NHRA shows that the Monte Carlo shipping weight was only 10 pounds heavier than a Chevelle, both of them with a 402..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

If there were I'm sure it would have been mentioned in the book. I'm sure some kid may have brought there dads MC in and had a hot coil installed, but that would not a Motion car make. As for the weight, I would think a real world difference of about 200-300 lbs on a scale would be about right.

Not necessarily would they have mentioned it in the book. Ive been told by several MOTION enthusiasts that there were a few cars left out. Its a great book either way

That Harrel monte is one BAD machine. It'd be cool to make a yenkonor motion monte, kind of a "what if" tribute car

Then build one . its your car. My buddy built a 79 el camino the way he thought MOTION would have. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Ive got the 70 monte. wouldnt be hard to put badges and stickers on it. and i LOVE the motion valve covers.

Its more than badges and stickers and valve covers. Most who build a clone or a tribute try to make them as exact as possible.Marty Schorr emailed me this morning and said to the best of his knowledge there weren't any Montes converted by MOTION. A customer may have had one done but there weren't any new.
My advice to you would be look at 70 MOTION chevelle. The engine , drivetrain, you would probably have to bond an L88 scoop on to your Monte hood. I can't say for sure but Fiber Concepts out here in Pa may be able to make you a complete fibeglass hood. Its worth a shot. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
