I just bought an R59 dry cell...and LOVE it. Looks like the real deal, and best of all, it's LIGHTER...http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

This is the place I got mine from:

Works great and its really light.

Compared to the dry cell Group 27 battery I got from New Castle before they went out of business 3 years ago, it weighs about 1/4 as much.

Steve: is that place out of Cinncinnati? That's where my battery came from...I ordered just prior to the Reunion, and they answered the phone at Carlisle, and said they'd ship it ASAP when they got back on Monday...the battery showed up on Wednesday! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

But they are wet acid batteries not the sealed optima-style batteries, right?

If you like your paint I'd get the sealed battery.

I absolutely *LOVE* ours...we've had 2 repro wet batteries spill their guts in our Camaro, which SUCKS, so I naturally can't stand them...regular batteries with a topper never spilled, but still didn't have "the look". But, COPO Pete turned me on to these Restoration Battery folks in Cinnci, and as usual, he was right! Thing has never missed a beat, and starts every time I hit the key...

I think thats where I got mine. It's a gell cell in a repop shell. works great so far, & it is lighter than the regular one.
