Does anyone here have or remember seeing a photo of a car hauler with Yenkos on it, sitting in front of the Colonial Chevrolet dealership? I think it was in one of my old Muscle Car mags from back in the 80s.

I cannot find it but the picture has been posted on here before. I believe Joe Barr ( Camarojoe ) has a copy or an original of it. It had 1969 Camaros and Chevelles on the transport carrier if I recall correctly.

Wow! Two Camaro and four Chevelles. Great photo that I haven't seen in a long time. I only wish it was in color. Am I right in saying that's a Million dollar load of cars today?! Let's not forget how bitchin' the actual truck is also with the "Yenko" crest on the door.

Most likely Goyne Chevrolet
Chester Virginia
In 1966 they were;
Zone # 37
Dealer # 235
They're now Heritage Chevrolet and still located on Rt. 1 & Rt. 10 in Chester , Va.

No problem. I have a few more...including a few from inside the Colonial showroom. The one I posted is actually a reprint I bought and had signed by Hope Yenko, Donna Mae Mimms, and Ed Lowther back in '98 at SCR1... Ironically I now have the original photo and negative in my collection, as well as a Yenko that was sold new at Colonial. I have this print framed and hanging on my wall, and it still brings back alot of nice memories.
I've been super busy lately, but over the holidays I'll try to dig out some more cool Colonial shots and post 'em up for anyone interested. -JB

Joe, Any pictures you have would be great. I also collect Lionel toy trains and on my layout I am going to build a replica of the Colonial dealership. I have quite a collection of 1/43 scale cars including GMP Yenko Novas, chevelles, Camaros and such that will look good sitting in front of the dealership. I also am working on a 1/43 scale dragstrip with 1/43 scale dragters , gassers and other muscle cars. I just ordered a 1968 Gibb nova for the dragstrip area. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

As reported in an earlier post, this is indeed Goyne Chevrolet, Chester, Va. (20 miles south of Richmond, Va.) The Goyne family sold the dealership years ago and it still operates in the same building but with different ownership and under the name of Heritage Chevrolet. This was also the selling dealership for my 61 Impala SS, Unforunatly they do not have any of the old Goyne records.
In the sixties the dealer around the Richmond area most known for stocking high performance cars was Heckler Chevrolet in Highland Springs. I can remember going in their showroom in 1969 to look an orange Camaro with the all alumium 427 motor. It had blackwall tires with orange wheels and little hubcaps. I thought it was the uglyist car I ever seen. If only I had known then what I was looking at!!!

Just found this link, looks like possibly they have the sales orders for some cars if not all as my 69 Z was from there
