Does anyone know what happened to the Rally green 70 w-30 that was on e-bay a yr or two ago? Did anyone ever get to see this car in person?

I`m not sure of a 1970 Rallye Green, but there was a 1969 Rallye Green W30 Post Sedan at this years MCACN. It was in the 1969 display.

I think Scott is talking about an Olds color called "jade" or something like that. Real neat history sold by original owners and I believe the father was quite ill.

Dan....actually that was a W31 which is not a 442. The W31 packs a Ramrod 350 and is a very cool and rare car. And being a post sedan, it caught both of our attention! Here's a couple pics...

Sam, I think we are talking about the same car. The guys uncle purchased the car new if I remember. I thought the car was a -- paint and the guy stated it was rally green? I think he was also selling a Corvette...maybe a ZR1?
Wow, That 69 is very nice. I love the rally green color. Its nice to see others cars in such a cool color.

Thanks for the tread. I had done a search, but came up empty. Looks like the color is Jade, not rally green as I had thought. Does anyone know who purchased the car? Any pictures?

My whole reason for this post is the color. I was going through some of my old mags and came across a green 1970 W-30 conv. Green on green auto. It does not state what the color is, but I think it might be the same color as the 70 cp. (Jade green). Its in my April 88 Muscle Cars mag on page 48. I was wondering if the two cars were the same color?

Haven't looked at my collection, but I remember the car in the magazine and I think it was more of an Agean Aqua - certainly not Jade Green.
However, check this out . . .

You're wrong....the car's color was called Ming Jade and I believe it was a Cadillac color that was special ordered on this car. I remember seeing pics of the car when it was on Ebay and it was definitely Jade green.

442w30 was refering to a car we have seen in a magazine. not the cp. Read his post before you say he's wrong.
442W30, Afer looking at the now posted pictures I can see the diff in the two colors. How rare is the Agean color?

Thanks for rushing to my defense. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Agean Aqua was one of 4 extra-cost colors, but I don't think it's rare. Of course, there's no keeping track on the originality of cars you see in this color, but I think there are rarer combinations than that.

Wow, looking at that Ming Jade Green W-30 car, it's a shame they didn't sell it for $201K back in 2006. It's an auto trans, and a hardtop, which would be worth about $40K today, add in the low mileage and the special color, it's probably worth about $50K-70K now. The owner is probably kicking himself for not cashing in back in 2006 or 2007. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

He didn't cash in because he was smoking crack at the time, judging by the price. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

He was trying to get enough money to pay for his fathers surgury. If it had not been for that, I dont think they would have sold the car.

Not that it has much to do with this thread..
For quite a few years I owned the Rally Green '69 W-31 a few posts up; it's been restored since I sold it in the mid-90's. Really fun car with M-21, 4.33 gears, manual steering and brakes.

All the usual excuses apply; bought a house, trying to fund another resto, bought a new Z28, needed $$$, etc. Thankfully, I wasn't able sell my other '69 W-31 that I had for sale at the same time, and I still have it.
Attached photo shows how the RG W-31 looked while I owned it.

The hood stripes were originally white on my black '69.
I don't know if the Rally Green '69 had stripes at all, originally. When I got the RG car it had Chevelle-style stripes on the hood and decklid, and white '69 H/O-style stripes on the sides. The car appeared to have it's original RG paint, except for the LF fender and quarter panels, and the white stripes were a poorly executed later addition.

Yup, it sold on Ebay in '06, and it's changed hands a couple times since then. It sold somewhere in the twenties on Ebay, but I don't recall exactly how much.

The car also went through the Mecum auction in the fall of 2006......here is a couple pics of it sitting in the waiting tent.
