View Full Version : 1966 BM Biscayne....???
Did Baldwin Motion ever sell any 1966 Biscaynes with 427 motors? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

The Street Racer Special. See page 38 in Marty's book. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif
1966? Nope. Maybe one modified through Motion as a used car, but not a new one through Baldwin Chev. The program did not get started until 1967 model year.

I agree, BM conversions did not start until 1967. Baldwin Chevrolet may have sold stock L-72 biscaynes through their retail dealership prior to their relationship with Motion.

I have a picture of Joel and Bill Thomas tuning a 66 fullsize car on the dyno circa 1968, cool picture! Motion modified yes, Motion built, no.

I emailed Marty and he said that pic in the book is 1968. Probably the same car you speak of. He recalls some lettering on the front fenders, no other info. Is that the one you have Steve?

I think I have an article or pictures of Motion working on a '65 Impala.... I recall them putting a ram-air type setup on it removing 2 of the headlights for air ducts. I can't remember if Joel was under the hood or not. Been awhile since I seen the pics. I'll post them later on if I have them.

I would scan it if it were some other old pic, but since it's a book that just came out I'd rather not infringe until everyone I know has bought at least two copies http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Oops, mixed the two last names up. I just learned from a guy on another message board that his father owned this car new and raced it frequently. It was a blue factory L72 Biscayne sold out of Bast.

When I first saw this picture I new exactly what car it was. It's my fathers factory 427/425 Biscayne. Motion installed a new engine after the original one broke. I put a video on you tube of the car at West Hampton in 68. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZc97wK0keM[/url]

I'm getting closer to the recreation of my fathers Motion modified Biscayne. Sano's Custom Paint in Dayton New Jersey just painted it Marina Blue and Glen Weisgerber painted The Blue Buggy on the fenders. If anyone has a Bast Chevrolet emblem laying please let me know.

Getting a little closer to getting it done. Original blue interior material is on the way and I got the Bast Chevrolet emblem I've been searching for. Just need to get it replated.

I surprised my father with the clone to his car last week. He had no clue I was building it. He thought it was his and when I walked up to him he was trying to call the police thinking it was his car stolen 47 years ago.
