Yes Jeff, I've seen a number of them. Wagons are very popular now. It should be saved as original if possible. Forget the air-ride, 20" wheel deal. Which 348 is it?

here are some more pics......a friend of mine bought this car. everything but the radiator is original from what we can tell. the motor is seized up from sitting since '69. its all apart and at the machine shop now. the car is going to be left alone and has really cleaned up nice. all the black stuff on the engine is some sort of soot from the extra heater it has on it. when wiped off, the motor looks brand new. all the interior is in it and nice. all hes going to do is get it driveable and cruise it. i have never seen a '59 Nomad before. really a cool lookin car.........

Very nice find Jeff. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif The only non-original piece I see is the fuel filter arrangement (other than the hokey heater addition)
Can't wait to hear about the '62......

I was 5 years old when last in my dad's new blue 59 wagon. He had it till 63 when he bought a new Chevrolet 9 passenger. Great memories! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Just look at the intricate detail & character that car emotes, and all in steel, from a time long gone by.
You don't see anything near that in todays cars.

The interior really looks clean.
Is that a gas heater like some of the 60-64 Corvairs had? Would explain the soot.

My Dad had a Beige '59 with the bronze interior. Traded it for a White/Red gut '61. I always loved the '59/'60 dash and those steering wheels are probably the coolest ones Chevy ever produced. I have one on my '57.
The long roof would accommodate a surfboard very nicely! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Very cool car. I saw one similar to that at a cruise in Calgary. I have photos somewhere. It was a 348 car too.
