A nice authentic vintage battery display found in the back of a defunct speedshop, that was originally shipped directly from an automotive warehouse. It comes with it's original early period design Delco cardboard shipping carton, and has virtually no wear or fading.
Made directly at the Delco-Remy Anderson Indiana plant.
It's hollow and was made for display only,as it only weighs 5 lbs. & was specially made WITHOUT lead cells for this very reason. It never, ever had electrolyte added to it.
The top lifts off to show prospective buyers the inner workings of this newly designed battery for 1971.
This is a REAL R89 battery casing & is NOT being reproduced at all today and never has been.
This is not a W battery. This has the R59 top post like case, with the newly designed side terminal connections.
Comes with original delco eye & caps and the two 3/8" threaded metal side terminals as well.
A very scarce battery from a time gone by.
$600 and comes with money back gaurantee if not as stated/shown.
I took many pictures,as someone always requests an angle I forgot..Thank You.

The case is an actual 1971 Delco rubberized plastic production R89 case.
The 60 month warranty advertising decal is adhesive and can be removed if need be,as is the warranty tag on top. There is no date code hot stamped into the top,as it never "Officially" carried a warranty, just made to look like it did with the top tag.
The terminals are threaded and made of metal,so you can screw cables right into them if need be.
Yes,my total price includes shipping.

Below is a list of it's original applications:

Could I talk you into posting a good clear pic of that warranty sticker?

Sure..I've also included the tag from the R89W battery I have for sale as well.
Notice the subtle differences between the two, although both printed in 1972.

Thanks! Yes I'd seen the R89W tag in your other ad, and was really curious about the differences, if any.
