What do you guys collect that is non-automotive related? I have had this fantasy (it has to be a fantasy for now due to lack of funds) to do a 30's-40's's style room or kitchen with a juke box (preferably a Wuritzer Bubbler), old Coke signs and related era advertising and decor. Do any of you have like a 50's style room with Coke advertising or a cool collection that you would be willing to post pictures of? I know there are plenty of obsessive collectors out there like me that have non-automotive collections.

I collect/buy some old vintage menus at times. Love the 50's table and chairs. I remember them pretty well. Wish I had more room. I also collect 50's 60's Marx, Tonka trucks and some old unbuilt model Kits. It does not have to be real expensive collecting that stuff if you look around and go to local auctions and things. Also visit local used furniture and second hand stores. A good idea Frank. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Here are a couple of shots of my dealership/warehouse. You can't see the gas pumps, redline Hotwheels/Matchbox and Vintage model kits and promos. I don't think there is much I don't collect. Thankfully, my wife doesn't visit here much.:)

Vintage kitchen table and chairs from 50's-60's are collectable and expensive. I went into a furniture store near the peterson auto museum. There prices were a $1000 or more for a vintage table and chairs. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Wow, those tables and chairs are bringing that type of coin? My neighborhood is filled with old houses where the people have been living in them for generations. I usually attend estate sales here since a lot of the old ethnics are dying off and there is usually one of those table & chairs sets at every sale. Most of them are now in the basement and not used. The ones that I have inquired about have been priced at $200-300. Man, it looks like I need to pick one up!

No. What that was all about is Mossport thinks I am a cop so that was a dig against me for outing him about the decal he was selling. I don't want to crap up this thread so I will just let it go.

The train stuff sounds cool. I know some guys that are into that. I know trains could run some big money.
Speaking of pictures, I wish I could post some pics in the gallery but I know it's down. I myself am a local historian and have an EXTENSIVE collection of historical items, books, pamphlets, photographs, ephemera, and other items from my neighborhood and a couple of surrounding neighborhoods I am interested in.

Awesome Schwinn collection! I wonder how many people "get" the connection with the musclebikes. I have gravitated to the runabouts, but have a couple ramshorn's that are minty. Is that a Coppertone fenderless 64 in the lower left?
My other sickness, Honda 50's.(One corner of the room)

I have a collection of aluminum intake manifolds. The only catch is, I have to pay less than $100 for them at a swap meet and they have to be odd aftermarket or original GM or Ford pieces in order to stay on the wall. I'll get some pics posted soon.

Frank,I was going to ask when your book was going to come out.Now we know.I talked to your dad at MCACN in November and he said it was getting close. What book stores will it be in or where can we buy a copy?

Kendall, The book will be locally in all the usual stores like Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc. It will be available online at Amazon.com and other online book outlets. I did not mention it much here because it's such a local Chicago topic that I figured there would not be much interest to people out of the area. Thank's for asking though! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Like many here I've got too much stuff but most important to me are my vintage racing snowmobiles..
Luckily I got started in the late 70's when few cared and they were cheap so ended up w/ a couple dozen or more factory racers from the glory years of the late 60's to the early 80's..
A few are one of one also some w/ amous racing histories including driver names many here would recognise from their other racing exploits..
