I have an opportunity to trade for a 69 Camaro Z10, 396/350hp, Auto A/C, original drivetrain. The car is painted. and the drive train is rebuilt, but otherwise needs a full restoration, a majority of the parts are there. The Z10 doesn't have documentation other than a CHP certification that will be completed this week. At that point I will know if it has the correct dist, carb, intake, exhaust manifolds and other expensive parts.

Additionally, a 69 RS NOM(383 stroker), color change, auto, A/C running driver that needs a couple grand and a week's worth of, work thrown at it will be included in the trade.

Considering making a trade of the two cars above for a 69 RS Camaro 396/350hp DY/Yellow Guts, Auto, A/C car that will be finished at the end of the month. Original motor, not original trans or rear. I will post pics on that when it is done.

Not concerned about the driver car value, I have a number in mind. We would spruce this car up a little, sell it and use the proceeds to restore the Z10.

My question is what is the market value of a done Z10 as described above with all numbers matching components, verified by CHP? Any clue as to the number of Z10's built as described above? Need your opinions as to what kind of a premium a Z10 would bring over the nicely restored Daytona Yellow 69 RS/BB/A/C car. The Z10 and the DY car are nearly identically equipped, and the Z10 is more correct when it comes to numbers matching original parts.

Not many Z10's. Depends on who you talk to. I have heard anywhere from 188 to 700. Talk to Kurt or Mark at CRG.

Really not many big block Z10's. I have seen at least 10 Z10's over the years, and only one big block.
In fact, we had four at one time in a local car show one year, but no big blocks.

I have a buddy that has a very nice small block with factory air. PM me if you want his email, as I am pretty sure he knows more than I do about these cars.

Just a thought. Even though they are comparatively rare, it is still all about supply and demand. The Z10 (and Z11 for that matter) demand seems to ebb and flow a little more than the rest of the first gen market. JMO.

I'm not sure how much of a premium a 396 Z10 would pull over a nice color combo RS/SS396.
I think the more original parts on it would give the Z10 a clear edge. But the market is smaller for Z10's, IMO.

btw, there's a SB Z10 on ebay right now.

The Z10 is a great looking car, I prefer it to the drop top.

I would much rather have your yellow car. A yellow yellow RS SS 396 ac car car has to be alot harder to find than a Z10.

Personally the Z10 doesn't do it for me. I have learned a lot about them I didn't know like the regional area they were sold in, no blacked out tail panel for BBs, didn't have orange houndstooth interiors, almost all had AC, all were RS etc etc. We went over the car with "he who shall not be named" it is almost all there from the radiator to the rear pumpkin, all original sheet metal. I think it will be coming up for sale soon, not mine and the guy wants three years ago money for it probably. I have come to the conclusion that the 69 BB RS yellow/yellow would be comparable $$ if mine had the original rear and trans, which it doesn't. Rare yes, but valuable? Maybe if the right two guys came along. Like I said, I learned a lot if nothing else, didn't even know they existed a few years ago. thanks for the inputs.

Did any of this make sense, I had three flights last night and not a whole lot of sleep. Flew three different kids last nite, 5, 14 and 3, two were in car wrecks, rollovers and weren't in strapped in. Parent's ought to get child abuse charges when that happens.
