Wanted: one pair of 1969 Z/28 exhaust manifolds – trade for my 1972 Z/28 manifolds???
Hey Y’all,
I’m getting ready to install a set of 1972 Z/28 exhaust manifolds on my ’69 Z and thought maybe I should offer them up for trade first in case someone was looking for a set for their 72-3 Z/28 and had a set of 3946826 / 3942527 manifolds for my car they didn’t need. It’s a long shot but worth a try……
I see the 69 Z manifolds for sale quite often and realize they usually bring in some big dollars, but rarely see the 72-3 style for sale. Maybe you’d be willing to trade because they are a bit more difficult to find and you haven’t had any luck getting the right set for your car???
Anyway, the set I have to offer came off a 1972 4 speed Z/28 I had many years ago. They are in excellent condition (perfect threads, no issues, etc.) and would be correct for any late built ’72 or early built ’73 Z/28 (with 4 speed – RH manifold with A/T is different).
Casting numbers and date codes: 3989041 with F 23 2 (June 23, 1972) and 3986330 with F 15 2 (June 15, 1972).
Thought I should post this in the wanted section since I’m not really offering the 72 manifolds for sale…..
FYI, I’m also looking for a 3986330 RH exhaust manifold for my ’73 Z/28, with a date code of Jan ’73 or first week of Feb, so this really is a wanted ad in some form…...
