I posted previously about recently purchasing back my first muscle car( 69 rs/z), well I've done it again. As my daily driver back in the late 70's I drove a silver 1970 Datsun 2000 roadster. I actually moved from PA. to NY in that car. I guess back then I didn't own much. That car was a blast to drive, and drive I did..Let's see, I tore the transmission up twice, blew the ring gear once and spun a bearing in the engine. I did not purchase the same car, but a 1967.5 one of 650 built. Who knows what is next maybe a marina blue 67 L79 Corvette (I owned all three during the same time period). Certainly not a muscle car but fun none the less.

Those are cool. I'd like to find a Datsun 510 2 door. I had a couple of those as winter cars, but I always like the styling of them. A lot were modified with bigger engines or turbos. I always thought of them as a sort of Japanese Nova. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Great looking little sports car Steve! I've got quite alot of "stick" time in Datsuns. Worked at a dealership in the summers. They made me do cross-border deliveries of Z cars to other dealerships and forced me to do it over the weekends. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Very nimble little beasts - very smooth in-line sixes backed up by a 5 speed.

The 2000's are four cylinder 2 litre screamers. The redline is 7K and rev well beyond effortlessly. Its going to be interesting fitting in this thing as it's been 30 years since I last drove one. The car is shipping from CA and will arrive this weekend. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

-----Steve,,,While I have to say that you have gone back over to the dark side, I kind of dont mind your new little roadster. Sort of what a true "sports car" should be. Light and nimble! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif........Bill S

There is no dark side for me. I've admired many of the cars form the Vintage Japanese Car site. I am also into 1st generation Audi quattro cars. Fun stuff!
