It's not a reproduction but it is a newer one from either a dealer or a crate motor.

That is the style of intake that came on the LS6 and LS7 crate motors of the late 1970's up until they discontinued the engine.

I just bought a new take off for 100 for a crate 502 I had robbed the intake on.

He very well could have bought it new in '72 and had it on the shelf all this time. However, these particular intakes weren't installed on any assembly line cars.
