Hello Guys

Planning on going to the states in July.
While i most of the time travel alone, i am planning on bringing my family this time.

I am looking for a house to rent for 3 weeks in July. I where thinking of trying to get a house around the lakes in GA, lake lanier etc..

Is there any website in particular that is used in the states to channel this kind of services?

Here we have a couple of sites that is typically used for this services..

If you know someone having a really nice place that they rent out, in a location with a nice climate during july, i am open for alternatives, close to water...

Any help is appreciated.

Pretty warm in Georgia in July...you should think about a lake house up north..Adirondacks, New England, Wisconsin..etc.

We always get a beach house on Monterey Bay in a town south of Santa Cruz called Aptos. It's just beautiful and cool there and by August in Texas, I'm ready for some cool.
Time it right and you can go to the Historic Races at Laguna Seca. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

VRBO.com (vacation rentals by owner)
You could also call a local real estate office in the area you are looking at or call Ben Roethlesberger's Lawyer.

Lake of the Ozarks, MO
Lake Havasu, AZ

without a boat it isn't worth being lakeside though..

A boat is needed, but i am guessing that can be rented

All advice is appreciated.

New, lots of neat places to Vacation in the States, you need to decide what tempature you like first, then start looking around, some places get flat out hot and humid over here in the summer and also keep mind lots of bugs flying around where its green and warm...me I dig Desert weather a nice 80'deg day with a light breeze and access to water and the boat. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Nils,

Michigan is SURROUNDED by LAKES and the weather is usually pretty nice in July. Here's a website for you to check out. The best vacation spots are in Northern Michigan. There is a link at the top with "places to stay" where you can search for rentals.

Washington State, we have a green side, and the desert side,

Lake Chelan is neat, http://www.rentalprorentals.com/lakechelanvacationrentals/search.cfm

I Play on the Columbia river about 20mi from Chelan, lots of dams along it, it slows the river way down and makes it a huge slow moving body of water to play on, great for water skiing, tubing, ski doo's etc and just drifting and having a brew as the scenery changes, the river is getting to be like palm springs, it was a secret of sorts now its getting to be big money to buy in. google check out Sun Cove, Lake Entiat Estates, and Lake Entiat., summer weather is 70's may'ish on, July/Aug hot 80/90's or more...perfect beer and bikini judging weather. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Peace, B.

I agree that bugs can be a pain. When I moved from the East coast to the West coast I couldn't believe that you could sit in a jacuzzi at 10 pm without a single mosquito dive-bombing you. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Rita- I love Michigan (Mom's from Ponitac), but the last time I was there for the Dreamcruise we couldn't eat dinner in my friends backyard. We got killed by mosquito's! Constant slapping and swinging at those things! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Nils- where ever you choose to go, everybody here can fill you in so you can be aware and prepare.

Jason, we didn't go last year for the first time in 25 years. The boys have grown up and we got out of the beach house rotation. I'm still planning on hitting the Monterey Historic races, though.
I do miss beautiful Aptos and the drive in theater up the road.
