There appeared to be some fairly reasonable prices early on, but they seem to have come back up this afternoon....

I'm watching these blithering idiot announcers tip-toeing around the facts with the one-of-twelve produced, lime green, 1971 hemi automatic Challenger R/T that had been rebodied. It's hilarious to listen to their non-sensical prattle. It's like they think they are going to get sued if they say the wrong thing.
Gee, it sold for $87,000. Ya think the fact it was rebodied had something to do with that price? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
Looks like the bidders knew what they were looking at. In its felony-free, original body it would have been a $200K car.
The looks on some of those guys faces are priceless.

Looks like a few give-aways and then some ego bidding also. Hard to tell where the smart money is... (maybe it stayed home) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
The prices paid for certain Corvettes was beyond belief. Obvious restamps and trim tag changes and they still brought big $$, simply amazing.

I think that would be Steve Magnante(sp) and out of the group of commentators that cover the BJ auction I think he's the only one who has even the slightest clue.
I love how the guys on TV keep saying that numbers matching means it has its original motor. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Steve M.really knows his stuff.I'd believe what he says more than some of the other talking heads on the B-J broadcast.

Steve Magnante is very knowledgeable. I noticed he has notes on most cars which shows he does his research before going on stage. He is there because he is good not like the English fellow they had a few years ago who referred to every North American built engine as a "lump under the hood". As BJ is 80% about Muscle cars and or clones is is important to see someone who can spot the differences. That yellow 71 W30 Rag has been at every auction for the past 5 years> is is s documented car but because of the three way color change and to a non Olds color it affected the price. Steve mentioned the original color towards the end of the bidding. Keep Steve Magnante,he makes it interesting.

Enough late model Shelby/Roush/Whatever Mustangs already " Carroll Shelby farted in this 09 GT 500. it's a one of one, never to be duplicated" $120k for 68 442 Conv.? BJ is like a live cartoon, but I hear the atmosphere is worth the trip

I think that's why a lot of bidders overpay for the cars 'cause they get caught-up in the ''atmosphere''!
