Looking for a one-piece scattershield with a block protection plate as well, period correct for 70's in clean condition. These were painted red.
thanks,

Sam,
I have seen the guy out of Payson who has this ad advertise one on Craigslist from time to time.
Payson guy (http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/pts/1673616384.html)
If you get in touch with him I can stop by and pick it up next week when I go back to Show Low. He always has cool stuff for sale and it would give me an excuse to check it out.
John told me he has some takeoffs, if you'd like I can see what he has and let you know.
Whate is the difference between the old ones and the current ones? Are they really SBC/BBC specific? Pics are always appreciated.

The old ones have sloppy quality compared to the ones in the last 10 years. I just sold the shield for an old one.
Parts of it was flame or torch cut in areas. New ones are stamped cut where they were torched cut.

Thanks to all for your input and leads. I have a very nice vintage Lakewood Scattershield w/ block plate heading my way. <font color="red"> Anyone know the correct shade of red for a Lakewood? </font> Don't know if it changed over the years. The one I have coming is an earlier four digit code (1500) part # vs. the new five digit code scattershields.
Thanks! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Call Lakewood OR take the shield with you to a good hardware store and match it up. The one you showed me looks to be the type I ran in 1971 or earlier. That to me looked like the correct color. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Being a Lakewood, make sure you put an indicator on the back of the crankshaft flange and indicate the bellhousing. Those Lakewoods, are notorious for being pretty far 'out' from centerline.
