I'm pretty sure this car has been discussed on here before and the Motion stuff was determined to be bogus. The front clip was smashed up.

Hi:
I believe this car was determined "bogus" some time ago by Joel Rosen. If you'd like to see a spectacular 1968 Baldwin-Motion SS/RS 427 L88 Camaro survivor, check out a feature I just posted on The Car Guy Chronicles, www.CarGuyChronicles.com (http://www.CarGuyChronicles.com)

Man that car is nice and it's amazing that it is still with the original owner and in "as purchased" condition. To me that car is practically priceless. I would love to see what it looked like with the T-Bolt hood.

If only cars could talk I'm sure there would be some really cool stories.

Thanks for sharing.

He's probably refused some staggering offers for it too. Nice to see one that's still with the original owner.

Love this line..."Renner’s first pass netted an 11.60-sec/121-mph time slip"...

It sounds like he's financially secure and doesn't need the money. That's great because it's real value remains with with him being the original owner and he can tell 'ya 42 years of great stories about this great car where if a wealthy collector owned it.......well, he could only talk about writing the check out for it!

Are there any photos of this car without the cheesy photoshopped background? I couldn't believe the sole photo of this car published in the Motion book was of such poor quality. Sorry to be a stickler but man does that background take away from the car! Its a distraction. And the pixelated photos in the book surely caught me off guard, especially given the quality and background of the authors.

Chris,

That photo is still highly over edited. Looks photoshopped to me. Unless its shot with a film camera, it looks like a poor attempt at an HDR edit. This car is sinister in every way. The story makes the car even cooler... I would just like to see unedited pictures of it.

I think you are right. The chain link fence that can be seen through the passenger window is not in the wooded background. Tires also do not match the surrounding appearance and almost look to be floating though I agree, very sinister and great looking Camaro.

is this the original hood? Guy selling it wants you to think so ...

I don't believe the car was ever black as this sellers hood is.

As far as the photo shopped pictures, I really hadn't noticed the background. Maybe the owner just chooses to not disclose the actual surroundings ? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

either way the car is HOT and I too would love to see some street or track action shots!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

Sure love to know what Suffix is on the block of this Motion added L88!.
Being it was built when you could order an IT Suffix block without Vin stamping through GM parts, could it be?.

Also considering this car is a '68 and the fact it may've been ordered from the get-go w/ plans to add the L88, there's a remote chance it could be a 9737 car!.
Remote chance yes but just for fun why not look to see if the TT happens to be an MM style?.

Couple o' long shots for sure but a fella never knows unless you dig deeper and take the time to Lhttp://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gifhttp://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gifK!.

From reading it, seems like the hood was assumed to have been painted back after it was removed from the car. Says there is some original paint still on the hood, guessing it's on the underside or areas where the black has chipped off.

Probably is an ugly hood on a Camaro anyway.

If I were Lug, I would want my original hood no matter how ugly http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Maybe it is real http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

He paid to get rid of the original hood, why would he want it now?

Maybe I haven't had enough coffee to answer this, but if it were me and I had the only known BM Camaro fitted with a Tbolt hood (no matter how ugly) I would still prefer to have it even if only to hang in the garage and let the kids use it as a sled. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I found out about this car years ago when I had an automotive gift shop in Pleasanton. The guy that drove it to California from the east coast for Lud was a longtime friend of Lud and a regular in my store. He brought up the car one day and told me the story of driving it out here and how much gas it used. Eventually I got him to bring in some pics of the car. They were taken in the early 90's at the Goodguys car show car corral in Pleasanton, Ca. Lud had the car for sale for, I think, $15,000. He said no one had any interest in it and just kept walking past it. Someone could have gotten a killer deal.
