I am offering my L89 for sale. There is no way I can be brief so I'll try to be complete.

I purchased this car from a fellow NCRS member from Ohio. I heard he had it and asked him if I could possibly buy it, so, he invited me up for a look. Not being a Camaro 'expert' I knew I would need help to check it out. I made the first trip solo and found what seemed to be a very nice documented Camaro. I found the VIN on the oil boss which I liked. I removed the alternator so I could view the assembly stamp and saw a pad surface that, at a minimum, had been altered by evidence of the non typical machine marks. At this point, I felt I had an original motor with a non typical pad surface. The transmission nor the rear end were original to the car. Other items I needed help on were, what options did the car come with as all I had was a Protect-O-Plate and was the cowl tag original...I did not know. It was time to call in someone I have complete confidence in to verify what was what with this car.

About a week later I found that as a result of the inspection, the car had a replacement cowl tag. It also was originally equipped with console and gauges, as well as cowl induction. Although it was sporting spoiler equipment, it did not come that way from Norwood. What I later discovered is that someone removed the parchment vinyl roof covering and added spoilers. That is OK, unfortunately, they removed the original cowl tag and added a repro to reflect the changes. After considering all I now knew about the car, I needed to make the decision whether to buy or not. It wasn't my fault changes had been made, it was only whether I felt the car deserved rescue and at what price. It was (is) still a very rare documented Camaro. I knew when I brought it out in public that the only option would be being honest about the car. After deliberating for a few days, I decided it was worth rescue and made a deal to buy it.

After getting it home I tried to find the original owner with zero luck. I did, however, find owner number two. He sent me a PIC of him sitting on the roof and a high school paper description of the car below him. I asked early on if he knew what composition the cylinder heads were and he did not. He only knew that it was the high performance 396. I sent him a PIC of the motor and he said that was how he remembered it. Keep in mind, he's not a wrencher. He went on to tell me his dad bought him the car off a used car lot with around 12,000 miles on it. He said it did have aftermarket wheels and tires but was original other than that. He went on to tell me it didn't get very good gas mileage to which I responded...no [censored].

I have decided to sell this car because I know I am never going to finish it. I am a Corvette guy and that is where my interest and knowledge is.

The price is $58,000.00 or best accepted offer. I do not get emotional over things like cars. I am not related to this car and I was not born in it. It's a car, that's all. You cannot insult me with an offer. If I don't think an offer is acceptable I'll either counter or simply decline the offer.

Although I have purchased parts since I acquired the car, the only purchased parts included in the above price are:
Complete set of dated glass from OEM
SS steering wheel
Center console
Gauges

I am available to discuss anything about the car you wish to discuss. I only ask that you don't call after 2200 and not before 0900 (East Coast). If you call between those hours, I will come to your [censored] house and...just kidding. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am going to include as many PICS as I can. I have PICs of the POP, stamp pad, original title, etc. I can take any requested PICs although I do not have a lift. If you know anything about this car that I may not, plz don't hesitate to let me know...good and/ or bad. In the end, my reputation is worth more than any money this old heap can bring. As I like to tell people, I have integrity, up to about two million and then it starts falling off rapidly. (again, just kidding) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks,

Mark Donnally
