Bobby Hull has always been my favourite hockey player and he grew up 30 miles down the road from here so I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Hawks. Saw him play a few times in the early 60's at Maple Leaf Gardens.
The Bruins advanced last night as well. How about a Boston/Chicago final Dan? Having two of the original six in the Cup Final would be great. However, I think Chicago has a better chance of getting there.

Don,
I sat next to Bobby Hull on flight 15 years ago, he was a gentleman indeed.
I hope your predictions are correct.

i have a picture here on my wall i am looking at right now where glen hall from tronto maple leafs is blocking a puck with bobby hull from the hawks right in front of the net. neither with helmet or mask backinthe day i would suspect circa say 1958. things have changed alittle since then. we have all gone soft. i too am one of the lucky ones to have seen bobby hull play many a night on channel 9 back in chicago for free on my tv. boy what a foreign thought that is today tv and free. bruins dont stand a chance against the hawks. good sentiment though! go hawks!!!!!!!!!!
Vancouver is next. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif
I was fortunate to play in a Golf fundraiser w/Bobby & Stan Makita recently.Afterwards they & others signed autographs during dinner..The line for todays BlackHawks players was out the door.Bobby had us "older" fans surrounding him..but one young kid did approach Bobby and ask him for his autograph..Bobby was pleased to do it and remarked,"Do you know who I am son?"
The kid replied.."Yep...you're Bretts dad".
We couldn't contain ourselves with laughter.

i see visions of the hamms bear dancing in my head between periods. FROM THE LAND OF SKY BLUE WATER! HAMMS THE BEER REFRESHING, HAMMS THE BEER REFRESHING! MR.70 DID YOU HAVE ANY OF THOSE WITH BOBBY?
I do not..We developed a kinship with him & didn't feel comfortable asking him for his signature afterwards. He confided in us that he felt the majority of autograph seekers are looking to sell them off for cash anyway,so he doesn't really look at them in the best light.

Can't say I've ever stolen anything over my lifetime (that I can remember), but there is one thing I wish I had. There was a sports bar around here I used to frequent in the early 1990's that is closed now. They had a large picture on the wall with full length images of the six NHL All Stars from around 1964 (???) which included Bobby Hull, Stan Makita and Pierre Pilote (I think). Three of the six were Hawks. I really google-eyed that thing every time I went in there <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/crazy.gif

wow!!!!!!!! that would be awsome to have. especially for a hawk fan. i have a team picture from the 1961 stanley cup team but, to have that poster... what an incredible collector pece that would be. i am wondering if the pictures were more like circa 1968 though? are you sure it was pilote?

As shown in my post referencing many "question marks" I am not sure of the actual year or if Pierre Pilote was one of them. I do know that three of the six were Hawks.

Can you believe what HALAK and "Les Habitants" just did to the Capitals? The overall number one team goes up 3-1 in games and then loses the last three. Unbelievable <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif
I'm obviously cheering for the Bruins. They have great defence and great goaltending, but lack the firepower to really go all the way. Although Marc Savard will be back for the next series which will help.
This year's playoffs have been just great. I think it is San Jose's year finally.

49 years since the hawks won the stanley cup. i say san jose loses to the red wings. they may not be who they used to be but, they still are a very dangerous team and will suprise the sharks! as for the canucks- remember those silly yellow uniforms they used to have- i saw the hawks at the stadium in 1990 beat them like 9-0 and that is what i am expecting them to do this year to the canucks in this next round. the hawks had the most trouble with the coyotes and their gone. i look for a black hawk- red wing western final with the hawks going to the stalnley cup!
