This has to be the worst re-stamping that I have ever seen. Maybe whoever restamped it didnt know that there should not be a "C" before the BE. As well, the quality of the L to E stamping is terrible.

For what its worth - this appears to have a Heartbeat City receipt included stating it is a COPO BE 12 Bolt rear. I really hope that they did not sell this as a real BE as my 4 year old daughter can tell this is not a real BE rear.

eBay Auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-CAMARO-COPO-12-BOLT-4-10-POSI-REAR-END-RESTORED-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255a4af722QQitemZ16042 8652322QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries)

Eric - how about those internals, are they HD COPO parts?

Could we conclude that Heartbeat City might be selling bogus restamped parts or just that they are victim to someone using thier name to try and validate parts?

Regardless - the receipt for this item is dated 2003 and to the best of my knowledge even in 2003 a legitimate BE rear should have been selling for more than that price.

There should be legislation enacted that would allow law enforcement to take action on those that restamp auto parts with the intention of increasing thier value. That other deadbeat topvalue2007 is listing so many restamped parts on eBay and from what I had heard he was previously charged, convicted and jailed for doing just that.

Law enforcement is on to topvalue2007. I'm guessing he will be shut down again and probably headed back to jail.

I believe topvalue2007 is also thegmparts and 1204clay. Either that or those are just other crook buddies and they work together.

So how about this "restamped" BE rear? Anyone care to have an opinion on it?

What about the fact that they are representing it came from Heartbeat City - would he really sell something so fake?

Charley -

This is great news. I am totally shocked on how many people have bought stuff from him at stupid prices. He does a very nice job on making the parts look authentic. It is terrible that low lives can continue to steal from so many people and have absolutely no regard for thier actions.

The listing is from GM Sport Salvage in CA. I have done lots of business with them and all has been positive. I would guess this rear came with a prject car they bought and had the receipt with it. I imagine the rear did come from heartbeat.

I agree the L to E restamp looks pretty bad, but couldn't a 341 rear this late have a C in front? Late BU and BV rears have been found with the 70 model C in front.

The carrier looks like a newer updated HD unit that has the press forged gears in it, not a COPO unit.

Can't see the numbers on the ring so I can't comment on that.
If it came from Jim, the ring and pinion could be correct.
I know that he had several sets of correct 226/228 gears at one time.

The added "C" I will refrain from approving or disapproving. All that I can say from personal inspection is that I have several "BE" rears in the data base that used the 341 housing and had assembly dates between 0806 and 0925 that did not have the added "C".

Hope that helps,
Eric
