I have gotten one opinion on this car already. Anyone know about this car? It is a Polar White with Red interior 1970 GTO Judge Ram Air IV.
I am a computer idiot so can someone post the link please.
Thanks

VIN 242370Z124865
If you're considering purchasing this car, hook up w/ others here who know these cars better but for starters, the way the description reads seems to indicate the engine is not original to the car?.
Also note that Googling the Vin results in numerous hits of the same vehicle for sale also past attempts on eBay and some past sales/no-sales are in French so it's possibile the car was in Canada?.
If by chance the car was delivered new in Canada, more docs would be available from GM Canada Vintage Services besides the PHS docs..
Good luck!.

I looked at this car in Januarary at the Mecum auction. Greg is a Pontiac guy and did a good restoration on this car. Rare car with nice options and in a killer color combo.
Most of the surviving RAIV cars don't have their original blocks and finding a correct WW block is near impossible.
If you're interested in the car, give Greg a call...

Greg is not very forthcoming with info, but wants a phone call. I just want some basic info before any phone calls are made. I have had Scott Tiemann look at a car for me before and I asked Greg. He said Scott knows the car,but that is all he would say. I will call Scott after the holiday weekend. I also recognize this is not the original engine, but I would like to know the casting number and its appearance and the casting date. I have a feeling that the more I learn, the less interested I will be.

White Judges totally don't do it for me, unless they have non-default stripe colors. A non-Judge in white/red is more interesting to me, especially that two-tone car that was on eBay a number of years ago.

The car just went through the Mecum spring auction. It was bid up to 85K…looked like a beautiful restoration. I agree most original RAIV blocks are long gone by now. Good Luck! RM

In todays market, 85K is a good price. Should have sold because that is what it is worth without an originl engine.

I saw the car down at Mecum. Restoration is very nice. After seeing some of the Ra3 Judges sell in the 60 to 70 range this car is a very good deal at 85k. I dont think you will find any other ra4 Judges sell in that range that are that nice unless they are green or brown.

i would have put the car on ebay first, before blowing all that cash hauling it to a BS auction like Mecum.

Prior to the auctions, I believe the car was on Ebay...

</div></div> I just sold a car at Mecum and I consider them the best musclecar auction there is. In fact the car I sold for 110K was on Ebay earlier and only bid to abut 40K.

I agree with Charley. If you have a high dollar car Mecum is a great place to take it if you can get a good time spot. The white Judge went through at 11:30 on friday night and there where not a lot of people left. If it had a Sat afternoon slot it probable would have done over 100k.

I'm not familiar with Freemont build sheets and being that it is so much different than Pontiac Built sheets I have to inquire if the other plants were similar to Freemont sheets?

-----I agree with Charley in regard to Mecum, Andy. You are way off with your opinion, but as we all know, you are entitled to your opinion......Bill S

Hey guys, i just went to Greg Tetters place to look at the car. It is in spectacular shape, probably as good as i have ever seen awhite car look.white cars have a tendency not to show well in pictures, my assumption was correct. Anyway i promised myself if it was what i had hoped, id buy it. It was the best restoration i have seen in years.I bought the car yesterday. John Moriacher is a great friend and told me about gregs work. Wow.I have a good amount of cars. This was the best deal i have seen this year.

Yea, the 4 speed and red interior make this car. I almost purchased a blue ram iii judge 4 months ago for 63k. For what this car was picked for was to good to pass up.

Several years ago a good friend owned a 69 Ram Air IV Judge. Same color, white over red. When he decided to sell it, I had just picked up a 69 Charger R/T, Q5 turquoise, white stripe, white top, black interior. Paid too much because of the color, so I didn't have the coin to buy the Judge. I still kick myself for letting that car get away, but, day late and a dollar short. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif
