Never thought this show would happen today, at 8:00am the skies were black and severe storms were rolling through the area....but by noon, the skies cleared and it turned out to be a really nice day..... so I hopped in the car and took a ride out to the Bloomington survivor show in St. Charles. Nice turnout, here are some pics...

Second time here for this car, original owner, bought it brand new a 1968 L78 Chevelle SS 396

Randy,

The Survivor `68 L78 Chevelle belongs to David Dood. He is a great guy, did you happen to meet Dave? He has lots of wonderful stories about him and his `68.

BTW, Great pics.

Was that John Platania's superbird?
I think that black GTO is Ed Lis's, another member on this site.

No Jim, that wasn't John's car....this one was an automatic and John's is a 4 speed.

Ditto Randy. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

I love '68 Chevelles, and an original owner L-78 survivor!!!!! WOW!

My second choice would have to be the red 6 cyl Camaro. That's just plain <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/cool.gif.

Obviously I'm a Chevy guy but that '65 GTO would be welcome at my house ANYTIME! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/drool.gif

Awesome pics. It was indeed mighty scary in the a.m., but great to see all the owners who still brought out their cars.

The plum crazy Super Bee was mind blowing, with original paint. For anyone who knows Mopars and the terrible quality of their paint in '70, especially the purple cars, this is just incredible to see. The owner gave me a full tour and I walked away amazed. He will be showing a freshly restored Hemi Cuda at MCACN, (being restored now by The Finer Details), so we are hoping to get him to bring the Bee also.

The 427 R-code Galaxie is owned by another MCACN Sponsor, Dave Glass of D&M Corvette, and he will be bringing that to MCACN also.

It was a great day and many THANKS to all who shared their cars with us, even in the rain!
