Congratulations to Jim Gessner, a member of this site. He was inducted to the Great Hall at Bloomington Gold on Friday night. I’ve only known Jim for about eight years or so, we met when I had an old Corvette that raced back in the day. It’s always a pleasure to visit with Jim and hear his stories of racing these cars.
Jim was a racer and collector and founded the Registry of Corvette Race Cars. Congratulations, Jim.

-----Ive known Jimmy for well over 20 years, probably more like 30, and he is the real deal. Although from the east he moved to southern California early and REALLY enjoyed the southern Cal. lifestyle to its fullest. Ive been told that back in the day if you went by his gas station you were likely to be surprized by about 20 or more Corvettes all there for something or simply for sale. He has seen, done it, and is living proof that a regular good guy can go racing and have the time of his life. Much of what he knows about good handling came directly from Dick Guldstrands lips as they have been the best of friends just about forever.
------Congratulations Jimmy, You soooo deserve this award.....Bill S

Congratulations Jim,
There is not a more deserving person than Jim. He has devoted a lifetime to this hobby and sport. Jim is always willing to help everyone he meets. And yes, he is the Real Deal! I'm proud to call him my friend.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!
I wish I could have been there for the ceremony. Jim is one of the reasons this is a great hobby. He always has time to talk cars and answer questions. Keep chasing those rare ones Jim.

Thanks for the "KUDO'S" guys. Dee and I got home last night after 5425 miles of touring and enjoying the BLOOMINGTON GOLD EVENT. It was a lot of fun, especially to be inducted with the first group of 10 people.

The other people are Noland Adams, George Barlos, Richard Fortier, Dick Guldstrand, Al Knoch, Jim Krughoff, Bob McDorman, Bill Mock, and Jim Prather.

This group of Corvette Pioneers in the hobby set the stage for many things to come. I am pleasantlty surprised to be included and thank the Selection Committee.

I was very fortunate in my lifetime to be "where the action happened", especially the Race Track where Corvettes competed often. Had they not raced them on Sunday, they never would have sold any on Monday......and none of us would be having so much fun today.

Bill Locke and Dave Burroughs created the "GREAT HALL" about The People.....The Cars.......The Stories....

What an honor to be one of 50 people to be included over the next 4 years.
