My friend Larry got a call from John Deere last October asking if he was interested in doing a commercial after seeing his gardens (http://www.27east.com/story_gallery.cfm?id=167563&town=General%20Interes t&n=In%20the%20Garden%20with%20Larry%20Carlson&img =14).
He is just a regular guy, unscripted, talking about his yard. You may have seen this clip (http://www.deere.com/en_US/CCE_promo/deereseason/the_creations/larry_carlson.html) during sporting events on TV.
Pretty cool. Now he gets royalty checks when it plays!!

Artist is right!.
I hope my wife doesn't see these ads and get any ideas!!!
I just gave my Wheel Horse tractor away and moved into a 20 year old Kohler powered Hydrostatic green machine and love it!.
Sadly the new Deere John tractors aren't what they used to be..

Andy I used to run an old Toro Hydro Triplex turfmaster with the Kohler for the greens. A three wheeler that was a blast to drive. I had a Wheel Horse for a while too.
I always wanted a Gravely when I lived on Shelter Island but here in Sag Harbor the terrain is too civilized for that.

Hey Sam...if you ever can't find a Gravely you can always buy an Ariens...same thing just painted orange instead of red. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

I got a feeling Sam has a "real" pre-1980's Gravely. Ariens bought out Gravely and then shut down the original production factory in NC several years later. Not a lot of Mowerheads talking about the late model Gravely.
Okay Sam, show your equipment!

Chris is mostly right. I have an old school Gravely, large 4 wheel garden tractor with fore, mid, & aft PTOs. No hydrostatic trans - all gear direct drive (4 hi/4lo). It is a 1978 model originally outfitted with 12 horse Kohler but I have adapted a twin cylinder 20 HP Kohler for a bit more oomph. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif (so, I guess it ain't numbers matching anymore <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif)

Yup...know the story well...Ariens is located in the town I lived most of my life in and I worked there for a while.
