"axle & suspension w/tags and markings in place. Axles, ring & pinion gears, axle housing & 3rd member, leaf springs, shackles, brackets & bolts"

Above is a quote from the auction.

Now, I have always been the first to admit that I have alot to learn, but is anyone else as very curious as I am to see what the tags and markings on the leaf spring rear suspension would look like on a 1969 Chevelle?

This isn't a &quot;normal&quot; Chevelle, but a <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-size: 20pt"><span style="font-style: italic">300 Deluxe</span> </span></span> coupe. Very cool if it figures to be a real L89.

Hey Dan V, you got your ears on?!! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif

Wow! Sam, I also noticed that white-striped rear seat and thought &quot;300 Hardtop&quot;! What a great car.

There's just enough BS and misinformation in that auction description to make the seller appear questionable. Obviously, anyone who's seriously interested would have to do their due diligence.

Cool car. I love the &quot;396 375 hp the Pusher&quot; label on the dash.

Why won't people show the engine deck stamps on rare cars that supposedly have the born with engines - this one is out of the car and could not get any easier to photograph?

Cool car if real with odd options/combination, L89, 300 Deluxe, with supposed factory ordered tilt wheel &amp; light group.

I don't know about anyone else, but this is the first L-89 300 hardtop I've ever seen.

I've never seen a 300D, sedan or hardtop with buckets. There's no good pictures of the front seats.
Dan (or ayobody else) have you ever seen buckets done up with 300 deluxe material and striping?

Probably because the 300 Deluxe models were never available from the factory with bucket seats.

That's what I thought too Bill. And it's probably true.

If you look at the Q and A on the e-bay add, somebody' asks about the seats, probably Dan!
Anyway, the seller replies that the front and back seats match. I looked through all the photos on the ad and on the photobucket link, and you can see a corner of the driver's bucket in one photo. The material's all torn up, but it looks like the correct material for a 300D car.(????)

Very neat car. Looks all correct to me. Missing correct carb, correct air cleaner, jack, distributor and who knows about the alternator? It calls for a 63 amp alt, as did my Malibu, but I have yet to find one anywhere. 61 amps all day long, but what the heck, an 837 instead, not bad. Should be a relatively easy resto, I'm sure spectacular when done. One of one I'd guess.

Congrats.

Correction. I did forget a few things (wheels, smog, exhaust manifolds), but great car none the less!!! Phil Woj

On closer inspection I see that it does have a bench seat. Yeah I know, it's time to admit that I need glasses!

ok, $85k BIN

I don't see the $500,000 bid he was talking about though ... ?

&quot;Reason For Relist
A Bidder retracted bid mistake of $500,000.00 which created a retraction of over half the bids. Highest Bidder above reserve or does Buy it Now owns the Car and wins Auction Thanks for understanding&quot;

all the bids were <span style="font-weight: bold">cancelled</span> except the ONE:

Bidder 2***n <span style="font-weight: bold">Retracted</span>: US $50,000.00
Explanation: Entered wrong amount

????? on the sales process on this one

cool car nonetheless

I still have vivid memories of a burnished brown post 300 sedan that used to frequent The Rustic Pub on Grand River Road East of Orchard lake Road in Farmington Michigan in the early 70's ... every time I saw it there it was parked by the front door ... (the lot was dirt back then)

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a26/JimRohn/rusticpub.jpg

I have always thought the 300 versions were cool

The $500,000 bid probably showed as 50,000 because that was the reserve price and that is what his bid would show as.

Pete,

Nick's former Chevelle (you are referring to), is now owned by Don Lightfoot, which is a Post Sedan. This 300 Deluxe L89 is a coupe.

This L89 will &quot;make a scene&quot; when completed.
