Hi Guys,
While touring Maastricht, Netherlands I came across a beautiful looking Porsche. Can someone give details on the car and maybe a year range? It says 9115 on the back. I'm assuming it’s a 911 Euro model? Below are a few pictures.
Thanks,
Dave

Probably a 911-S not 911-5?.
European production may differ but based on US spec cars,
I think the S identified the '69 and up Fuel-Injected models?.
Also the car shown has original style bumpers last used on '73 US models so 69-73 may be a good guess from what you can see?.
Details and Vins can clarify further!.

Thanks for the info. I passed the car on the street and have not seen it since. Looked like a super clean and nice car.
Thanks for the info you provided,

It is a 69-73 911S aka long hood. In 74 the front turn signals were incorperated into the bumpers changing the configuration of the hood . No more curv down at the front of the hood for the 74 and up model year and the hood is shorter so 1973 and earlier 911 cars are referred to as the "Short hood" cars
It is not a 72 because the 72 model had an oil filler flap on the passenger side rear quarter between the fender well and the door jamb that was identical in style to the gas filler door on the front drivers side fender. Exclusive to that year only like a 63 Corvette was the only year for the split window
911S (Super)was the high performance model . 911T (Touring)and the standard model was the 911E .
PS- I have both a 70 911S and a 74 RSR so if you would like more details feel free to contact me .

Love to see and here more on the RSR Van!.
I forget if I told you before but I foolishly let a real '73 Carrera deal slip by me once years ago and have always kicked myself for it..
It was early 80's and an accident car I was thinking of buying to sell but couldn't justify the cost to fix it so passed..
Yes I should've grabbed it and turned it into a race-car immediately!.

The RSR was one of the 15 that was built for the original IROC series and was put on poll in the first race by Emmo . Fittipaldi was late for the drivers meeting so they made him start DFL . He moved quickly through the field and went off track at one point and bottomed the car out. The RSRs have a plastic tank and he punctured it. Since 3 of the 15 cars were back ups and the three Riverside races were run over one weekend in Nov of 1973 the car never raced again in IROC and was replaced by one of the back ups. Only 6 drivers moved on to the finale at Daytona . The car was sold to an IMSA driver and one year it after Sebring the car was sold to a man from Columbia................. guys name was Pablo Escobar <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

Van,
That RSR is one killer looking car. The story behind it seems to be second to known also! Thanks for sharing.

On a slightly different note, I figured I would share these pictures. I was in Paris last week and saw this.... 959 anyone?
