I am a huge Bears fan..... The league needs to take this win away from the Bears and award it to the Lions! On this day I am a very disappointed NFL fan. This was a terrible call!

Yeah, "the process" WTF is that?
Two feet down, control, knees down. That's gotta be a catch.

You have to maintain control all the way to the ground. The receiver didn't do that. The referees (and the review booth) certainly know the rules, and they didn't make a snap judgment. They took their sweet time reviewing the play, and they ruled it was a not a catch.

That being said, I thought it was a TD too, but as a Bears fan, we'll take the win. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

The league needs to change the way they interpret a catch, at least in the endzone. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/bs.gif Why wouldn't that be considered a touchdown, when other times a guy just breaks the plane of the goal line with the ball, then has it fall out of his hands, and it's ruled as a touchdown.
I'm a Bears fan also, but this season, the win column for them will have an * in it.

Where does "the ground cannot cause a fumble" rule fit in here?

This play aside, this years slogan is.."Chicago Bears,we are who you thought we were."
I was so hoping I was wrong. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/frown.gif

From the NFL rulebook:

If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball after he touches the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete.

I know it sucks, it cost them the game, but the Lions aren't upset about this call. I think if this was a completely blown call, you would have seen the Lions wide receiver 'do a George Brett' and rush the referees.

The Chicago Politicians "Deemed" it a touchdown........So.....If you were a Ref and wanted to get out of town alive.........I mean....I'm just say'in........

It was a TD. Dumb rule----I am a bears fan but it will be a long season when your coach makes bone headed calls and you barely beat a Loins team with there back up for the second half. LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG SEASON.
