Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational

Just finished watching the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational on Speed TV. It looked like everyone had a blast; it was cool to see so many beautiful cars being driven so hard. Jackass seemed to make quite an impressive showing but, what impressed me most was the fact that the 1966 427 Cobra kicked a$$ and won the whole event.

If you get a chance to see the show on Speed, it is worth watching.

When I first saw that I was not surprised at the results, the Cobra was driven by a long time autocrosser that KNOWS how to drive around cones/corners. The comparison really wasn't &quot;fair&quot; in that the driver skill level of the other cars was way less than the winners (the Cobra owner did not do the hot lap competition driving) ...

A lot of these type of &quot;competitions&quot; can be won simply with a good driver (and not necessarily the &quot;best&quot; car)
