View Full Version : 2002 Dodge Intrepid
Since Jess' Honda broke down we are looking for a new ride.
We don't wanna spend a new Trans. into the Honda.
We found a 2002 Intrepid, 2.7L V6 with almost 94k mls. on it.
Is there any major issue with this modelyear?
What about the oil sludge?
Seller is asking $4000.00 but is willing to negotiate.

I am not a fan of Chrysler’s but that's my opinion, usually around the 100k mark one of three things goes bad on them; transmission, A/C or power steering.
Again it's my opinion but I have had a quite a few friends/relatives that have had the same problems.
Good luck, Kurt

I may be mistaken, but I believe it's the 2.7L V6 that is a total POS...my wife's uncle got a smoking deal on an Intrepid, got it home, and the engine was bad, and the more we researched, the more we found that *everyone* had engine problems in them, which means finding a good takeout engine to drop in basically isn't gonna happen. A quick google search doesn't turn up very many good reviews...

If you made it to 100k before any of those things happened you've done well based on what I have heard.
I have heard several of the same issues (specifically transmissions and A/C)

Stay away from anything with the 2.7 engine. It has so little power it is dangerous to drive. (when it actually does run).
