The 2011 Baldwin-Motion Camaro program has been launched! It's a brand new Fantastic Five: SS & Phase III 427 & 454 MOTION Camaros available in 525 (SS-427) to 800 Supercharged horsepower (Phase III 427-SC Supercar) with warranties and available from a single Chevrolet dealership in NY.
Pricing starts at under-$80,000.
Art & details are all over the Internet (Google 2011 MOTION 427 & 454 Camaros) and you can check Super Chevy magazine for the story at http://www.superchevy.com/features/camar...aros/index.html (http://www.superchevy.com/features/camaro/sucp_1101w_2011_motion_427_and_454_chevy_camaros/index.html)

Thanks, Joe. The Internet response to the launch has been incredible. In addition to Joel ordering a 427-SC, two more customers stepped up on the first day the story broke to order cars.
I just posted a piece on the Return Of The Fantastic Five with pictures not included in the launch kit. Check it out, visit http://www.carguychronicles.com/

Billy:
The 525 horsepower, SS-427 Motion Camaro, starts at under $80,000. The 800-horsepower Supercharged Phase III 427-SC Supercar is $150,000. In between are the Phase III 427, SS-454 and Phase III 454. Lots of choices.

Baldwin or Denooyer/Motion ??

Ya know,
I was going to ask that same question.
So, judging from the article, Denooyer will be the only dealership that you will be able to purchase these from, is that correct Marty?
Also, just how did they get picked ? Along with Redline? Is there past history with Joel and youself?
Thanks!

Hi:
Thanks for mentioning my book and putting in a link.
The new 2011 MOTION Camaro program has the spirit of the original Baldwin-Motion Fantastic Five. DeNooyer Chevrolet was chosen because they have an active Performance Division, is the highest volume Chevy dealer in upstate NY and the owner is a big MOTION fan. Vehicle development and building is done by Redline because they have built close to 50 modified Camaros that were sold by DeNooyer and is set up with a dyno. Joel Rosen has been involved in the design and engineering of the cars. Owner Howard Tanner has experience re-programing GM FI engines and powertrains.
The Program is MOTION 427 & 454 Camaros, built by Redline and sold only by DeNooyer Chevrolet. Back in the day it was Motion Performance that built the cars and they were sold only by Baldwin Chevrolet.
Hope this clears up the mystery,
Marty

Marty,
Thanks for that info on how Denooyer and Redline were picked.
Just to add , i have your book and have read thru it.
I know there is history with you and Joel, what I was asking is if you and Joel had history with Denooyer and Redline. Its great that the owner has a heart for Motion cars.

Joe:
Great that you have a copy of my book. Thanks.Neither Joel nor I had a previous connection with Redline or DeNooyer. Howard Tanner visited with Joel and I in Florida and started a dialog. That led to creating the program with DeNooyer. The supercharged 800-hp 427-SC engine for Joel's car is in the process of being built and his Synergy Green Camaro is in the paint shop. That's the #01 427-SC Supercharged Supercar. The #02 427-SC has been sold to a speed equipment manufacturer. It's priced at $150,000 and is a limited production model.

Martyn,
No offence but the price does seem a bit steep. A Camaro SS costs $35k. Figure you guys are going to remove and sell the engine for perhaps $4k. So the $80k base car considering the engine sale is $49k over the cost of the car. Sure seems like alot considering the LS7 costs $17k as a crate engine. I do understand that a lot of time and development has gone into the project
It seems that your guys take the crate engine and tear it down and built it up. Would they consider puting in the stock crate engine and bringing down the price?? (A guy can dream cant he??? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif )

First off, the "you guys" doesn't apply. I am the PR and advertising guy on this project, not the builder-marketer. MOTION/DeNooyer/Redline is a business, not a hobby shop. Can the cars be built cheaper? Possibly. However, how many people can develop a car, change engines, re-program the powertrain, dyno tune it and come up with a package that can carry a warranty? And buy and finance it from an authorized Chevrolet dealer! Plus, the end result is a MOTION-branded Camaro with heritage, horsepower and a future. That nobody else can do at any price.
No offense taken,Marty

Maybe Chevy with their ZL-1 program ???
Martyn L. Schorr
02-24-2011, 04:01 PM
My references were aimed at individuals building cars cheaper than what MOTION is selling. I was not talking about competing with Chevrolet. If someone wants to buy a stock Camaro, even a ZL1 car, they should. If they want a MOTION car, they should buy a MOTION car. Right now Chevrolet does not offer a car to compete, 427 & 454 power and trim-wise, with what MOTION is building and selling.
Over the next year or two,MOTION has more goodies coming.
Stay tuned,
Marty

These are "Un official" Motion Phase III concepts (that I sent on to Joel) if people are interested? Since I was not commissioned, asked, (or paid to do them) & the official concept is out, I figured I would show you guys at the forum.
Thanks,
Andrew.

First let me say I think these cars are great and look great. This car would look sooooo much better if it had white/black or silver stripes and noooooo green on the wheels. Gold stripes just dont look as good on anything other than a black or white car.

Gotta disagree about the gold stripe comment. Shelby GT350H's in Candyapple Red, Sapphire Blue, and Dark Ivy Green look just FINE in their gold stripes.....
You gotta think out of the box now and again to keep ideas from gettin' stale or stagnant.......
That color does pop and I agree that gold stripe compliments the car and color in a Very Cool way..........!!
Anyway, that car will turn heads on a dime ......You look at it once and you'll find yourself just lookin' back over your shoulder again and again..... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/cool.gif IMO
I really like that plexi-glass piece on the hood...There were a couple of Novas around my way back when that had the Plexi tunnel ram scoops and always thoght that was too <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/cool.gif
If that's MrMotion's new ride........I take my hat off to him.............Enjoy.!!

The 2011 Motion Phase III 427-SC Supercharged Supercar is $150,000, the top of the Baldwin-Motion lineup. The Synergy Green car is the first production model, #01, of the 427-SC line and was ordered by and delivered to Joel "Mr. Motion" Rosen. Prices of 2011 Motion Camaros start at under $80,000 for the SS-427 model. All 2011 Motion Camaros are powered by 427 and 454 engines, as were the original Baldwin-Motion Camaros built between 1967 and 1974.
