Steve Calamusa has owned this very quick Phase III Chevelle since finding it parked on the lawn of a neighborhood house. It was in very rough shape. He didn't even know what it was when he found and bought it. That was decades ago. He still owns it, drives it on the street and races it.
For the complete story on this "blind find" Chevelle, please visit The Car Guy Chronicles: http://www.carguychronicles.com/2010/12/ss-454-baldwin-motion-chevelle-blind.html

I have talked to Steve a couple of times. Great car and an even greater story and owner. Talk about rare! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/worship.gif

How many of these cars were built? I can think of 3. Green, white, and red? The green one with sidepipes in one of the coolest cars!!!
I talked to the owner of the white car at SCR a few years ago. He also has a fast bmw. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/no.gif

Not too mention 7 shades of tan in the Saddle interior! One very difficult interior to restore, trust me. Looks great against the white. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

Spoke to Steve and his wife at MCACNs. Amazing car, with a great story! Owners are all class too...
There are at least 2 green ones with side exhaust.

Got any pictures? How many do you think are out there?
Joe
A select few dealers were actually doing what Joel was doing and modified some 70 Chevelles too, that looked identical to Joels product.
I would love to see some vintage pics or adds of "knock-off" Motion cars.
I realize there were other dealers doing mods, but each onw kinda had their own signature or style. Were there ones that really did a carbon-copy of what worked for Motion?

I was friends with Alex when he had this car in the 70's. I was a punk teenager at the time and went for many a ride in this car. When Alex owned it it had a 7" snorkel hood scoop with "WHITE LIGHTNING" painted in black letters on the side of the scoop.
I remember one afternoon when a few f my motor head friends were hanging out infront of the auto/metal shop garage door when Alex pulled up in this and got it stuck in first and second gear and my friend (who owned a 67 RS-SS convertable) had to crawl under the car and pop the linkage.
I actually posted about this car on this sight several years ago hoping to find it was saved.
THIS IS GREAT NEWS.
