Has anybody seen Jerry McNeish's PR man lately????

Interesting that you call SSRSBOB Jerry’s PR man. SSRSBOB is banned because we believe SSRSBOB is really Jerry. It’s really just an embarrassingly lame attempt at self promoting himself. Take note of and read through SSRSBOB’s posts from that angle and see what you think.

Wow someone is on the ball with this one... Almost two years and finally someone figured that out... I thought the posts were lame and either it was Jerry himself or someone that wanted to give sexual pleasures...

Actually we have known for some time, but out of respect for our members who consider JM a friend, we gave him a "hall pass", but as when he was first banned, he screwed that up too.

Now that more details have been made public, I hope the ones who felt we were treating Jerry unfairly, and that he should be reinstated, now realize that as much as we tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, Jerry did this to himself, with his ego, as seen by his self promoting on this site, and his constant bashing of sYc members on other sites,

Below is an example of him posing as a unhappy customer, when really he is discrediting/bashing a competitor of his (Steve Gregori www.brakeboosters.com (http://www.brakeboosters.com) )for self gain. BTW Steve provides excellent plating and is very easy to deal with.

An example of bashing someone on another site simply because they support the sYc, in this case Steve Sandlin. BTW, a true car enthusiast.

Guess who called me to ask about a value on the car before he posted it for sale. S. Sandlin.

Steve S. flipped it and really made out well with a grand slam.........well over $150K profit. Think it was sold for $300K.

IMO, Very a unprofessional way to conduct one's business.

Wow! I am not liking what I am reading! There is a complete explanation behind Steve and the sale of his cars but that is NOT for public discussion. If some knew the whole story they would be very embarrassed by those kinds of remarks. What Steve did was very noble and not what most would have done in the same situation.

Moderators, feel free to remove this if you feel inappropriate.

Wow...that's a pretty low thing to pull. I do know that a friend of mine that used him to inspect a 69 Z 6 or 7 years ago since it was out of his area. The report he got back was that the Z was pretty beat and he should pass on it which surprised him because the car looked good in the pics and the write up had things listed correctly. So based on the report and site inspection he passed on the car....then found out 2 weeks later that the person in question, who he hired, provide a false report on the Z in question and bought it out from under him. The guy was some kind of ticked off and still is to this day...... I guess a "Z"ebra doesn't change their stripes.

Are you kidding me Steve? I quoted a previous post that had a link to Jerry playing some pretty cool drums and included a lyrical quote from another wildly popular song with equally as good percussion. I fail to see the misinterpreted bad taste and offensive humor. If you looked at both of those links you would realize this was praise to his skills as a percussionist. As one who "bangs the bongos" myself, I would consider such a reference a compliment.

I realize I may have had many failed attempts at humor on this site but offensive and bad taste are NOT on my play list.

Sorry Charlie, the link I added was to the hit song by Dire Straits, Money for Nothing from the 1980's. The phrase I used is commonly understood by drummers that it is time to play or perform at a gig(show).

I also used the <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/headbang.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif in reference to his video.
Not sure if the link itself was offensive so I won't put it up again. It was however on the same page as the originally posted video. Hope this clears up any unintentioned offense.

I find it hard to believe that somebody could find that in bad taste and have no problem to the sexual reference on the previous page. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif

*woops, almost forgot.... Jerry I do apologize if you find that offensive.

and repeat the text "banging on the bongos like a chimpanzee" a lyric from the above linked song, also not offensive,
it's a reference to playing the drums for cripes sakes!!

Thats a really dirty thing to do. I can tell a story like this , but it went the other way. My father went to look at a 69 Z back in 96 that was for sale by our house. My dad wasnt sure of its authenticity at the time even with all the trim tags on it and so on. It was a heavily street raced car with non matching engine and tons of speed parts. Just after my dad got there , Bob Harris showed up and was looking at it also. My father and bob were very good acquaintances at this time. So my Father asked bob if he thought it was the real deal. After some poking around bob assured my dad that it was a true Z car, and promptly told him " If you dont buy it, I will". Bob could have easily lied and made a big profit on this car and no one would have been the wiser. And while I know that bobs character can come into question at times also.... on that day his ego and character proved to be worthy. And it saddens me to see that Jerry is not a moral guy as i hoped he would be. I have read many of his books, and in my mind considered him a foremost expert and a reliable asset to the community. Im sad to have read this thread.

There have been several Rush features on Direct TV lately. One was a concert while the other was a documentary on the life of Rush. Both were a great watch and brought back a lot of memories. Combine one of the worlds best drummers with one of the worlds best bassest and a pretty damn good guitar player and you get a great band. Amazing how three members can make such music.

If all that is being said is true, it is a shame for the hobby.
But to trash him or anyone else that can not defend themselves does not seen right to me. I was always told by my father if you have a issue with someone speak directly to that person.
I just read this and think it may make this great site seem foolish to some people to be in a pissin match with someone outside the site that read it. JMO

Having known Jerry since 1983, I will say one thing about him....he has always stuck by the enthusiats side of things in this hobby. I always thought of Jerry as a person of high intergrity, and always looking out for the little guy in this hobby.

Now having said that....

Jerry is also very picky...look at his race cars.....meticulous. Unfortunately, he's the same about his restoration business. Jerry say what Jerry means, and that's it.

Does he have faults???....sure, we all do. I have always felt that the "higher" you are in this hobby, the harder it is to legitimize yourself, because there's always someone out there who likes to "knock that guy off the hill".

The same goes for all of the "experts" in this hobby.

I say, lets bury the friggin hatchet, and let's get on with more importatnt things in life.

While I can agree to a certain extent, there is a need for this info, whether it be good or bad, to be out there. I am not trying to stir the pot on this but I do feel that if anyone who makes a living off being a Camaro, or any car for that matter, expert will need to be sure that they conduct themselves in a professonal and business like manner. It's what will set them apart from the others and in this instance it appears that this isn't the case. For those of us who are like me and do this for a hobby, we need to have relieable people who are trusted that we can go to and get the straight answer. That is one of the reasons why this site is such a great one.

Yesterday I was contacted by a mod here who asked me about the post I made earlier as it may appear the lawyer talk is making the rounds. I stand by what I said as I heard it first hand from the source. I thank the mod for reaching out and verifying this as it is the correct thing to do. Furthermore, I will add my own personal experience. About 6 years ago, I had a Camaro at a well respected national show that was being judged. In this event the car is judged by multiple people for 4 -5 hours. The person in question, who was not part of the judging, team came by the car, looked at it for all of 30 seconds, declared it a fake and walked away. I was taken back that one could reach that conclusion in 30 seconds where the judging team had just spent 4 hours on the car and came to the exact opposite conclusion. The car is real. Normally I would of been freaking out but I knew about the person in question and I let the thing go. I do this as a hobby and not a business. I have never made a dime out of it and have never sold any of the Camaro's that I have been fortunate enough to acquire.

Here we have a person who has issues in the past with others. The whole SCW fiasco comes to mind from a few years ago. Then there is debacle of a "ceritifed" RG 69 Z28 that went to auction and was sold only to be found out later that it was a rebody and the "certification" never indicated that. The final "certified" report was than changed and some serious back peddling took place. Next you have an issue with a phantom poster who is bashing others work and touting up his old buddy. This is all coming from someone who considers himself an expert and charges for his services. So if I am new to the hobby and looking for the right people to go to I want to be able to make the best informed decision of who I can go to. I want to be able to see the info that is out there good or bad. The person in question has been given many chances and as someone wrote, he did this to himself. If you are going to carry your self as an expert and make a living off of this than you better be damn sure that you conduct yourself in a professional and business like manner all the time and it appears that just isn't the case here.

Personally, I'm glad all this came out. I was made to look like a liar and someone who didn't pay their bills a couple of years ago on this very board...in the same thread as the RG 69 Z. The one thing I am certain of about this hobby is that when it comes to money, profits, and these rare vehicles and parts, someone will always get screwed somewhere. If its from a friend, a trusted expert, a vendor, an event, or a club; it has no boundries and it happens to everyone at least once.
