My cousin posted a pic of her Dad (my Dadīs cousin)on her facebook. He actually built Cecil County Raceway.

Thought you guys would like...anyone remember ??

I have an inquiry for any old pics from the racway back in the day...hope to hit the jackpot and acquire some vintage photos.

Cool...looks a lot like Sam Griffith's Savoy, except for the color. Are those tow tabs on the front? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/cool.gif

Bruce,

I am in Brazil at the moment and will be back at the end of the month. I have asked my Dad to contact our cousin and see if he has any other pictures or memorabilia from the track. I imagine he must have some. He owned it for many years.
I will also contact him and get the story on this car and the tow tabs??. I think I might just go and visit him when I get back to the states...He still lives in the same area.I imagine he has some cool racing stories to tell also.

BTW, what motor would have been in a car like this?? One of them real cool crossram motors?? Or some kind of a wedge?? I know very little about those old plymouths. It seems this car was an advertisement for the track along with being his racecar.

Looks to be a white Savoy (common color). If it is a super stock Plymouth delivered in that area I should have more info on it such as high or lo compression, trans type, shipping date, etc.

m....COOL!

It would be very cool for you to follow up on this.

Sam, the Savoy could have had a 413 correct?

Yes Cecil County a great drag strip! Leave it up to a couple Italians to build what we all love and need.........a Drag Strip, and a real fast one at that. Great picture!

You bet Bruce. '62 was the only year Chrysler put the short ram 413c.i. Maximum Performance Engine Package in their Plymouths and Dodges.
