The first sentence says it all..<span style="font-style: italic">&quot;In 2008 a seemingly impossible Nova L89 appeared from nowhere.&quot;</span>

Without discussing THIS particular car, if the L89 option was candeled in Oct, 69, is it possible that one was built before it was canceled? Didn't 70 Nova production start in Aug, 69?

Any documnented L89 Camaros that were built between Aug 69 and Nov, 69?

Thanks Ken for bringing this up again. I was wondering what happened to that car. If I was him I would put a pair of steel heads on that car and try to get $50,000 for it. To many stories, to many questions and like you said the Facts, only the facts. Some things are so rare they seem worth a lot less than they should be cause nobody knows anything about it or can't get any straight answers. Besides it a 1970 and its a nova so................???

I never noticed the late air cleaner on this car. I wonder if it has a throttle cable or the rod? I thought the owner claimed the car was built with this motor because of it's early production and the motor slipped in the car before it got cancelled. Like Sam said it would make a real nice L78 Nova.

From what I remember Chevrolet started installing this later style air cleaner later in the production year. Heh but what is an air cleaner on a car with so many other concerns?

Chevrolet planet manager Fran Preve said &quot;The Tonawanda engine plant kept VERY accurate records on engines built during each model year. These &quot;Summeries of Engines Built&quot; list EVERY engine we built by assembly number and description. This number crossed over to a suffix code so from them I could determine how many of each SUFFIX CODE we built. Sometimes, as in the case of the L-89 engines built, I had further records. In these cases it was &quot;engine canceled, not replaced&quot; and then a date. In model year 1970 NO aluminum head LS6 engines were built. In the case of the L-89 engines in 1970, in October 1969 the L-89 396 option was canceled, not replaced. As far as the LS6/L89 NONE WERE BUILT.&quot;
