I picked this car up this week it is a very solid almost rust free 69 Chevelle 4 spd conv, that has been highly modified. It has all locks and handles removed original motor and trans missing the sfront end is a 68 all steel converted to be a tilting front end and even the seats have been changed. The positives floors, trunk, windshield frame and doors has no rust. The clutch pedals are still there nothing is really butchered other than bolt on parts. The car is a black bench seat, marina blue, 4 speed SS conv car.

Wow! What a custom! Looks like a George Barris early day custom?

Love the "Euro" Tilt front end and the center console. If you do not end up restoring it, take it to 2011 Mecum St. Charles, IL.

It is all up to what you want. All of the mods are bolt-on. I think the hardest part would be finding a date correct 396 & 4 speed. With all of the resources on this site that shouldn't be too difficult. Come to think of it, what month was it built? I may know where a correct 396 is currently. If you decide to leave it in its custom configuration, it will get attention at the shows. I also know a shop that would love to take on the project, no matter what you decide to do with it. (wink, wink)

I belive I have a late May 272 shortblock for the car. Dan I did it again getting myself into to many projects at one time. I am debating on which to let go the gold coupe or this conv. The conv is a much easier one to do.

The gold coupe is a 1969 olympic gold black vinyl top 396 325 hp auto buckets and console. It was bought from the original owner with all the paper work pop window sticker all dealer paper work. The engine and trans have never been out of the car but it does need a cmplete resto it does run and drive. I have the orinal ss wheels for it.

Thanks guys, my biggest decision is weather to make it a bench seat 4 speed like it was originally or a bucket with console car.

Its just about done waiting for the ss wheels and tires, some emblems and some trim, It will be listed for sale in about a month if you know somebody looking for a convertible. I ended up going with the bench seat

Wow, saved from "custom hell".

That tilt front end was gross IMHO.

Ryan

PS: Is it fully restored or put back as it should be and painted?

It was fully restored top to bottom rebuilt correct drivetrain 396, m20 almost every nut and bolt was off the car. The level of the resto is a 8 out of 10 if I was doing my L78 conv it would have been done to a higher quality. The car was built as it was built from the factory going to be a very nice non trailer queen car. I am in Florida right now when I get home I will post a few more pictues. Here is one taken a few months back

Nice car.

Ryan

The ability to drive a Chevelle after retoration is a key factor, for us regular non collector guys.
