For those that don't know, our friendly neighbor to the north COPO Pete has been battling a heart issue(s) for some time now...I talked to him briefly this morning, and he's doing better after the recent procedure, but it's still gonna be a slow road for a while. Here's what Bruno posted over at the Pure Stock site:
<span style="font-weight: bold">"Pete just called to let me know that he's feeling much better and resting at home after undergoing heart surgery this past weekend. As most of you already knew, Pete was stricken with a rare virus that attacked his heart a few years ago. He was able to slowly strengthen his heart but suffered a few setbacks recently as the lower portion of his heart would "misfire" and cause congestive heart failure. Heart specialists at the local hospital decided it was time to put him on the dyno last week for a series of tests. They decided that a new pacemaker/defibullator/ignition box be installed and wired to his heart to ensure proper firing even at higher rpm levels.
After holding my breath for the last week and a half, it was a big sigh of relief to hear his voice and know that he was at home resting and feeling much better.
Wonder if he can use it as some sort of delay box??? How do we tech for something like that?"</span>
Get better, Pete! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif

Given the fact that Pete survived the incident when his truck, trailer and car were stolen and through the subsequent recovery he is one tough guy!
Way to go Pete!
Paul
Hope you're firin' all 8 cylinders on a regular basis soon.............

Pete,
I had one of those MSD boxes installed in '05 and it's saved my life 3 times so far. You can depend on it. Just remember not to lift your elbow above your shoulder until it's completely healed, or you'll pull out the ignition wires!

Pete...we are familiar with what you are going through...please take it easy and listen to the doctors. Holly had a jump box for a while before her transplant.
We hope you are at 100% soon!

Thanks folks for the kind, kind words. The last few months have been more difficult than I had hoped, but now am feeling better. I have to take it easy for the next month or so, but am hoping to get up and get going! I'm hoping my new MSD box will help out as much as they say it will. Can't drive for 3 more weeks, but after that, look out! Hope to be at the reunion this year with Bruno and the E-bay Deuce, as well as a couple more.
Thanks again, this hobby and folks are the best!

Pete, Good to see you well enough to post. IF you have a Medtronics device, maybe with the "third wire", fibbrilations or a bundle block, I can relate and give you some encouragement and history if you'd like. Just pm me.
By the way, I won the drags at the last 2 NIA national conventions. You can still have fun!!

My Dad had one of those "installed" in 1999 - same one is still going strong and works like a charm. Hardly knows it's there.
God Bless.
