One of the bazillion cars stolen in Newark is found in California 36 years later...

Check out the video, at 1:46 you can see the home depot rivets holding the dash VIN on.

well maybe that VIN plate actually does not belong on that body.. That indeed may not be the same car that was stolen 36 years ago, just its VIN plate on another body, no?

I don't believe the VIN does belong with that body. The VIN is a 8 cylinder VIN. I'm pretty sure they would have checked at least the cowl top confidiential before running this story.

I would guess the VIN tag was not stolen, just the VIN the body had (hidden VIN) was
that car probably was "re-vin'd" in the 70's and that car has been like that ever since
The news video said the car was a butternut yellow 6 cylinder originally
