Headed to Downingtown, Pa. to meet John McKee (C1SS396) to pick up a pair of very rare JC Penny AF/X front runners. Never saw them before. Real nice guy. We chatted for about 20 minutes and it was time to finish the deal. I was ready to pay up for them but John told me that he did not want anything for them and that he was not really a tire collector. I was really happy to get those tires and didn't mind paying up for them. John insisted that I take them and put them to good use. Its refreshing to meet people in the hobby that still do this for others. Thanks again John and also to his wife for cleaning them up. They will be on BBBenny's COPO in Chicago in November.

Sam, it was great to meet you and put a face to the name. Glad the tires found a good home with someone who will appreciate them. I think it's great they will be on display at a show like Chicago and on such a cool car as BBBenny's Camaro.
Thanks to Sam and everyone else who's posted for the kind words... I got into the hobby for the love of the cars and thrill of the parts hunt, not for the money, and it's always nice to make friends and give back to a hobby that my wife and I enjoy so much.
