I have a car friend in the Vancouver area. We were talking about COPO Chevelles and how he rode in a friend's COPO Chevelle when it was new. Turns out it is the same one that Fred Nolan bought and took down to St. Charles, Illinois. There is a magazine article on the car. When brand new the car got headers, 4.88 gears and transmission rework. Rick was pretty impressed with the performance at the time and the re-connect with the car. Small world. Just a conversation, a light comess on and it puts things together. Light green COPO Chevelle, automatic on the column, Vernon Motors. Bingo. That's how we found my buddy's Beare Motors COPO Chevelle in the Calgary area. A casual conversation with a guy about the orange Beare Motors COPO being in the Calgary area. Bingo again.

I have pics somewhere I took of Freds' FG COPO Chevelle & his RG COPO Camaro,(side by side),taken in his garage in St. Chuck sometime around 1998/99.

If I remember correctly, didn't Muscle Car Review have an article about that COPO Chevelle a few years ago?

A friend of mine in BC, told me that he rode in the Vernon Motors car. A friend of his bought it brand new. Apparently the car got 4.88 gears and some other changes as soon as he bought it. It really is a small world. With the internet, it's amazing what you can find out about these old cars and their history.

Does anyone know if Vernon Motor Products made a dealer emblem or sticker? I want to find/make one up for my Nova. Thanks!

Looks like they might still be in business but I find NO mention of there ever being a dealer emblem anywhere on the net.

I'll keep my eyes open for one. I live here in the valley.

I'm going to the Penticton swap meet on Saturday...I'll keep a look out for one there. If I get up to Vernon in the next few weeks I'll see what I can do then.

I spent a couple of hours at the Penticton swap meet over the weekend and had a good look around for a Vernon Motors license plate frame. Sorry to say I didn't have any luck.

I still might make it to Vernon in the next couple of weeks so there is still a chance I can find something there, maybe at the auto wreckers?

Thanks for keeping your eyes open. Any older wrecking yards in vernon could have some luck, even the staff could have some information.

Yup...there are a couple of wreckers in the area. If I get up there I'll definately stop in and check it out.
