I find it amazing how original and documented this car is considering its condition.

I don't believe that is the typical tachometer in that car. Looks like a 55k redline. Hmm, and his source for "values" via Hemmings shouldn't be confused with "asking prices". Indeed a project.

I definitely agree that it's well documented! Sure needs a lot, but it appears to be a very solid start for a project.

Not saying it isn't true but a simple shot of the trim tag would dispel any possible ambiguity.

I predict that this car will be sold before the end of the ebay sale period ...

damn nice body compared to those rust belt rust buckets I have seen

I can't get the Facebook link to more pics to work , but in the sellers description he lists that it comes with the correct CTX block? CTX is an L34 engine code. If it really is an L78 that can't be the correct block.

Naturally when I open my mouth the car is an LA build... go figure. I'll remain silent even thought you couldn't gather this from his ad (unless I've forgotten all signs of an LA car?)

Thanks Darren. I'll call you tomorrow lunch time.

This car has L34 fuel lines as well as an L34 tach. Not much evidence of an L78 on the car. However the paperwork does show L78 but there are many questionable item present.

I am not so sure those docs and tranny belong to that car - unless I missed it, there isn't a single picture of the 503542 dash VIN in the green car, not on the facebook pics either. Wouldn't be surprised if a call to the guy netted a comment like, "ummm seems the dash VIN got taken out years ago..for some reason...but you can get reproductions of those"

The white one in the Hemmings ad he includes sure is nice though!

-----The white car included is owned by a very well known midwest collector, Ray Skillman. He owns many, many cars. The white 70 appears to be a very nice car. It should probably not be lumped in with one that apparently has some unanswered questions, other than to show what a nice 396/375 70 looks like.......Bill S

Wouldn't a Calif built L78 have dual fuel lines anyway?

If you're referring to an NA-9 charcoal cannister line, then no.
Not unless it was built to be sold brand new in the state of Calif.,would it have received that.
