With apologies to Vintage Musclecar Eric...
Rick, his son Bryan and I went to a "well known" junkyard here in Peoria AZ to check out the cars. It cost $2 to get in...and it was fun (other than the 97 degree temps at 9:15am)
Here are some pics...cars for sale

That "pile of crap" 71 firebird formula still has the honeycomb wheels on it. Damn. This would be my idea of the perfect vacation trip!

We had a blast, but the heat was starting to get to us. I'm positive we'll return, and next time we should take a cooler with us. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

It's an accessory piece. Before electric trunk releases were available, this is what you bought over the counter.

Yes. That cylinder would be located inside the glove box, but this Chevelle has AC. Never did find it on thieve car, but I didn't look to hard.

the early GM trunk openers were, in fact, vacuum operated, that is an OEM part ...

No need for apologies my friend...just be very cautious about any "rust free" items they might have for sale.

Thats cuz when it does rain out there it immediately boils thereby eliminating any chance of it rusting badly. Out here when they get wet (or at least 6 months out of the year) it freezes thus holding the water there indefinitely....... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif

We regularly shopped the West Coast Pick-A-Parts back in the '80s. 1st Gen Camaros were a rare sight but '60s Chevelles, Novas, B-bodies were seen in quantity. What was crushed out there should have been a crime-thousands of rust free cars, not wrecked just tired.
Were they aware you were taking pictures? So CA yards were paranoid about that; No Cameras Allowed signs everywhere.

Yep...they knew I was taking pics.
Actually they asked if I was a professional...I laughed. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif
