What's worse than a cop at your door at 4 AM?

Him telling me that my Suburban was stolen from my driveway
.....that was today's bad news...

Then the good news...they busted the 'thieves' only a half mile from my house because I had a tailight out..and that my truck is fine and i could get it back today from the tow yard.

Then the bad news..as the cop was just about to leave, I realized they stole my Chevy pick-up also...

then the good news..I went to the tow yard and my suburban was fine...other than the seats being tilted all the way back....the 3 RAP cd's, and the Orlando Magic cap with the unremoved label on the front that were left in the truck......and the radio tuned to the RAP station...oh, and the Newport cigarete butt in my ashtray...boy did we get a laugh out of that...I think my truck would have dubs by now if the cops didnt cacth the thieves......but other than that..my truck was perfect..Thank God...

then the bad news.....I think I got robbed again...maybe i am out of line, but I think the tow/auto body shop ripped me off. They picked up my truck a half mile from my house and towed it 3 miles to thier yard. They charged me 260 bucks....175 for the tow...40 for admin. fees..??..and get this..1 day storage at 50 bucks...they towed the car in at 4 am..I picked it up at 9:30 am....1 day storage??? Is this the norm?? I realize it was 4 AM...but wow....

If my company towed you you could have saved a twenty spot.
$200 tow,storage $45 Now as for the admin fee yeah thats
what I consider unethical.
But if it happened to be someone who would not respond to
my p.m.'s and emails out of common courtesy.

So you got the truck and the Suburban back? What was the total cost of the tows? Plan to take the keys out for now on? I used to leave the keys in all my cars until my pressure washer was stolen out of my driveway last year.

Sorry to hear of the foolishness you're going through..
Since the coppers nabbed half the bandit gang in your 'Burban hopefully one of them's a squealer and your truck found before a donk brothers restoration!.

after reading about the Elmer Nj thief, I thought Id comment about going to court last week for the two thiefs that stole my trucks. I could not beleive that the one thief that they brought from the county jail had a public defender who says he is not guilty...the guy claimed in court that someone named Larry loaned him my truck...when the DA asked 'Did he know that the truck was mine and not Larry's?', he said that 'Larry' told him that he worked for me.... I did manage to talk to the other thief outside the courthouse (apparently someone bailed him out)and I actually reminded him of my address and actually invited him back to my house!!!
I really wish I would have woke up while they were stealing my vehicles...I always keep my 12 guage loaded and at the side of my bed when I sleep !! I have one slug and 6 buckshot ready for the next time!!
Good luck on the Elmer thief...It really sucks when You work so hard only to have somone else steal your hard earned belongings.
