The current "for sale" ad in the classifieds got me thinking about this. I didn't know this wheel was so rare.

Back in 1995 I bought a 69 RS/SS 4-speed 350 Camaro and did a full restoration on it. Although the car was well worn, it had most of its original pieces including engine, transmission, rear end, smog manifolds, etc. Only documentation with the car was the POP. I believe it was a spring 69 build from Norwood.

It had a cushion grip wheel in it (I thought would have been original) which I replaced with a Rosewood. The cushion wheel got sold for a song.

My question is - With a Red standard interior would the cushion grip wheel have alse been Red as that was the colour of the one in the car? Thanks, just trying to expand my knowledge.

I believe all the 69-70 NK1 wheels installed in Chevys were black.

This is true. The color keyed 3 spoke comfort grips were Buick.

Could have been a mid-70s Buick Skyhawk wheel. I used to see these all the time in junkyards in CA.

I haver never seen a 1969-1975 Corvette with a color keyed wheel ever. 1976 may have been and I know for a fact that 1978-1982 was color keyed.
